Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Manager

Tasma Bioenergy (Tasma) is a Singaporean company that provides sustainable biomass energy (heat and power) to its
clients and assists them to reach their global greenhouse gas emissions reduction and renewable energy commitments. Tasma
is in a process of building several biomass energy plants in Indonesia.
We are now seeking a HSSE manager for our Indonesian subsidiary, PT Tasma Bioenergy Indonesia, to be based in Surabaya.

Responsibilities

Job Description
Sustainability of operations is a core value for Tasma and hence the role is a vital part in execution of Tasmas vision.

The position holder will be responsible for HSSE compliance at all Tasmas facilities. HSSE manager will interface with all
departments to ensure existing processes and projects are in compliance with the regulations set by world bank (IFC
Performance Standards), ILO, Indonesian authorities, Tasma and its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Implementation of Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). Continuous improvement of the system
Management of biomass fuel certification processes and related audits. Tasma certifies all facilities according to the
process set by a third-party independent organization. Liaison with certification organizations and auditors as needed
Planning and implementation of reporting and related processes to ensure that biomass feedstock procured by each
Tasma site complies with the sustainability criteria. Maintaining and developing the criteria based on changes in
international and local standards and stakeholder requirements
Day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP)
HSSE Manager implements and maintains an environmental health and safety program involving hazard identification
evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety,
ergonomics, industrial hygiene and environmental regulatory compliance
Provide HSSE leadership, training and operational support to all levels of the organization and across all functional
groups
Ensure all HSSE processes and procedures are implemented and standardized across Tasmas facilities. Conduct HSSE
internal audit periodically
Work closely with Engineering on projects involving plant construction, equipment design and hazardous assessments
Maintains all permits in current and valid condition

Tasmas organization is lean. Consequently, the whole staff will occasionally be involved in various duties outside of their usual
scope of work, such as project and development work and admin tasks.

Key skills/competencies/experience

Experience:
Previous equivalent experience with sustainability and CSR matters. Knowledge in sustainability issues related to
biomass is a big plus
Demonstrable familiarity and track record of HSSE processes and system implementation
Track record of working in line with the requirements of international financial institutions e.g. World Bank, ADB, and
specifically the IFC Performance Standards is a benefit

Competences:
Hands-on experience in HSSE-related matters; min. 5 years.
Cross-functional management capability
Leadership and fast-paced team player

Qualifications

Relevant university degree (Master or Bachelor)


Candidates must be computer literate
Native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia. Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
Ability to work in a team
