6th grade World Cultures: Long Term Plan

Notes:

-Ms. Jao wants me to examine how this long term plan fits in with the HAPG. HISD is requiring
assessments aligned to the HAPG every 3 weeks beginning in November. As a result, the pacing and
order of unit 1 and 2 is acceptable as is. Units 3, 4, 5, and 6 will need to be fixed.

-Every lesson should contain a reading component to align with Ms. Jao’s goal for boosting 6th grade
reading comprehension.

-An attempt should be made to incorporate cross-curriculum objectives at least once per week. (ie: at
least one objective related to math, writing, science, and reading).

-Many objectives were borrowed from Swanson and have been adapted to fit my needs. Objectives will
continue to be adapted as the year progresses.
