PROPOSAL

These days our world is filled with people who want to fit into society. In order to do that,
people must cope with the changes that occur. The changes are so many but the two things
that my project will focus on will be fashion and food. When it comes to fashion, it is
extremely easy to blend in with others just by following the latest trends however, that
doesnt necessarily mean that people do like the trend. As for food, people are expected to
stay fit and skinny not for health but for the view. This becomes an inevitable issue because
society is built on these stereotypes but we as a society can choose to ignore or avoid these it.
My project will show both sides to show the difference and why others need to be aware that
it needs to stop. The first side is the one that relates to the persons personality. The second
side will be the one that is shown to society to fit in. This project also takes into
consideration that some people are seen do in fact fit in because they actually want to so, in
order to avoid any generalization or further stereotypes, I am aware that not everyone is like
that. The concept of Consumerism and Interpellation is exactly what Im trying to focus on;
specifically, how the media, celebrities, people, social classes, etc. may affect individuals
decisions and may also persuade them into doing something they never thought of doing.
