Carrboro Family Medicine P.A. is happy to announce new changes to our laboratory.
Effective July 1, 2010 Labcorp of America will be taking over our in house lab testing.
1) The laboratory technician/phlebotomist will now require the doctor's lab order in
hand before they can draw a blood sample. If they do not have this order we will
have to obtain it from your doctor. This may take several minutes so you may
have to wait. If you have to return on another day for a lab draw please make sure
that your doctor gives you a lab order to bring back with you to avoid a delay.
2) If your insurance company does not pay for a lab draw you would receive a bill
from Labcorp not Carrboro Family Medicine. Please see below for a current list
of Labcorp Insurance payors currently filed in North Carolina. If you have any
questions please call Labcorp's customer service at 1-800-541-4235 and press 4
and someone will be able to assist you. Labcorp takes almost all insurance
companies; however if you have any questions about Labcorp accepting your
insurance please ask the technician/phlebotomist before you have your blood
drawn.
3) You will be called back by the technician/phlebotomist in the order your paper
work was received by them. If you have been waiting for more than 30 minutes
please let your nurse or the receptionist know.
Carrboro Family Medicine takes pride in providing our patients with the best healthcare
services possible. If you have any problems or concerns with our new lab rules please let
us know.
Thank you,
