On May 03, 2010 I reported to the branch Manager,AVP Mr.JALALUDDIN BAIG,
NEW CHALLI BRANCH as an internee During the period of internship from May 03,
2010 to June 25, 2010, I learned many basic information about the work performed
by bank behind the screen for there costumer and I learned many things in diffident
departments. My seat was changed every week in deferent department there are six
departments in that branch

1. Account opening department


2. Accounts department
3. Clearing department
4. Remittance department
5. Advance and credit department
6. Cash department (know how)
7. Trade

1. ACCOUNTOPENINGDEPARTMENT
In this department I got basic information about what are the necessities to open an
account some of the basic are
• Copy of C.NIC And Visiting Card
• Introduction of an other account holder
• Proof of source of income or any utility bill
Four types of accounts are offered.
1. CURRENT 2. PLS
3. SONERI SAVING 4. BBA
Current account is for businessmen, rest all the accounts are opened by salaried class or
students etc. PLS, SSA & BBA are slightly different with each other because of different
rate of interest & minimum balance maintenance.

2. ACCOUNTSDEPARTMENT
this department keeps all the records of customer’s transition in this department I have
done sorting of vouchers (debit & credit vouchers, & further sorting on the basis of
ONLINE, PLS/SSA, CD/BBA & General) than vouchers are counted & checked that all
vouchers are stamped and signed or not, finally no. of debit or credit vouchers are entered
in voucher register I have learned about batch posting (customer & GL both),
Issuance of cheque book and preparation of different vouchers, (party debit, party credit,
simple debit, simple credit, cash voucher) difference between simple and party vouchers
Entry the inward mail in register,
3. CLEARINGDEPARTMENT
This department deals with the instruments (cheques, drafts, pay order) that costumer
deposits or came through the other banks for the deposit. Four types of transitions in a
bank
1. Cash
2-transfer (same bank same branch)
3-transfer delivery (same bank but different branches)
4. Clearing (different bank different branches)
Two types of clearing
1-intracity
• Same day Clearing
• Normal Clearing
2-intercity
I learned many things Inward Clearing and Outward Clearing & OBC

4. REMITTANCEDEPARTMENT
The work of this department is issuance the pay order, demand draft and online fund
transfer
Two types of Online Transfer
• Intracity
• Intercity
Both are use in same bank

5. ADVANCEANDCREDITDEPARTMENT
This department provides finance to the costumer for their needs for a period against
securities.

6. CASHDEPARTMENT
This department collect or provide the cash to the costumer from there respective account
and bills collection (KESC, SSGC, PTCL and Cash Vouchers).

7. TRADE
Last department which was served is Trade (L.C, Credit, and Import etc) L.C (Letter of
Credit) is a document which is used in Import and export.
I learned two types of L.C
• L.C sight
• L.C usance
For opening an L.C customer is asked for Performa Invoice or Indent, Insurance
Covering Letter, Bill of Lading & I-form.

It was a nice experience to work with SBL, I am thankful to Soneri Bank Limited and
Specially to Staff members are co-operative, they Thought me many basic Information
About banking which I did not know and environment was very friendly.
