This journal from 2001 briefly touches into how exactly the brain processes and

understands music scientifically. The author explains that the part of the brain that

processes music is the same part of the brain that processes and interprets words and

language. This article can be used for whichever final topic our group agrees on, and can

be utilized in a few different ways.

This 2006 audio broadcast does a fantastic job of setting the tone and answering a lot of

questions that we may have while working on this assignment. This source also includes

a study done on both adults and children to see our bodys physiological reaction to

certain types of music. This does a very good job of trying to analyzing the connection

between music/art and the brain.

Problem Statement

Music has been around for millenniums and is a very influential part of everyday life. We

know that music is a universal art form in all different cultures that most can enjoy. It is very

common knowledge that music affects behaviors or moods, but the general population doesnt

know how exactly. In general, we can pretty much assume that music has an affect on different

types of people, we are just unsure of how.
