The changes in English teaching

Translation has been an important part of English language teaching for a long time, but it
has been abandoned since communicative methodologies became dominant.

Translation is said to be one of the most demanding and intellectually challenging


Tasks. It is connected with translation either as an action or as a result of an action. As
Ordudari, Interlingua translation can be defined as the replacement of elements of one
language, the domain of translation, by equivalent elements of another language, the
range. The fact of using translation on classes plays an important role in teaching. It helps
students to understand the connection between languages and explores the potential of both
of them. Translation is a necessary and natural activity, because in many common places
foreign words are met and they need to be decoded.

Traditionally, language is viewed as a code. In this view, language is made up of words


and a series of rules that connect words together. If language is only viewed in this way,
language learning just involves learning vocabulary and the rules for constructing
sentences. This understanding of language is, however, a very narrow one. It sees language
as fixed and finite and does not explore the complexities involved in using language for
communication.

Taking into account the constant changes into the Education its certain to say that the
translations has been abandoned both teacher and students since the students wish speak
in the target language and some teachers also think that is better an direct method than
a traditionalmethod, a truth be told, nowadays the students have many Access
to English language through music, videos, TV shows in English, games in English etc.,
many resources and tools that Taking into account a Second language and have caught
the attention of Young people, strategies and changes that day after day do that
thecommunicative methodologies become more dominant.
On the another hand, I can speak since my short experience where into the curriculum
There is major effort or concentration in grammar part where all material is design for the
Students complete sentences, fill spaces, find mistakes, organize sentences and so on
we can say the translation is not completely abandoned because currently the
communicative part takes an important part in the society and is really necessary
communication each others but in the classrooms the grammar is so important and useful
since it is linked to communication being as translation enhances critical reading skills,
improves grammatical awareness and language proficiency, facilitates vocabulary
acquisition, and develops intercultural competence.

Nowadays, communicative methodologies are assumed by most of the language


teachers in Europe; however, in the everyday reality of the classroom we still frequently
observe practices that are far from this approach and that remind us of more traditional
methods such as grammar-translation. (Paiderex, 2012)
