Subject: Social Studies Grade: 1 Date: April 10, 2017

Lesson: Final Project Make a Notebook Time: 50 minutes

- Notebooks made from previous class
- Pencils
- Pencil crayons
- copies of past and present worksheet

Preparation:

- Scan worksheet
- provide example for students
Adaptations:

No adaptations encourage student participation

Lesson Procedure:
1) Read 3 chapters of Junie B. Jones for storytime
2) Review concepts of Past and Present with concept cards.
a. What is the past?
b. What is the present?
3) Introduce that today we will be completing our final project.
4) With concept cards review how life has been different today versus in the
past.
5) Instruct students that they will be completing their final project today. They
need to write a sentence and draw a picture to go along with it.

Summative Assessment:
Assess for understanding that life was different in the past versus today.
