CIGRE Green Books
CIGRE as the worlds leading organization
for electric power networks has been
promoting the exchange of knowledge
since its very beginning in 1921. This has
led to the publication of innumerable
Session and Symposia papers and in
particular Technical Brochures, which
are the condensate of true non-biased
international cooperation in a specific field
dealt by a dedicated CIGRE working group.
By starting the CIGRE Green Book series,
CIGRE follows the vision to create the best
possible reference books available in the
market on the various subjects of electrical
power networks as dealt by CIGRE and its
Study Committees. These books should be
self-consistent, have a handbook character
and be recognised by the engineering
community as the top reference books in
their fields.
The first two books of the series, Overhead
Lines (Study Committee B2) and
Accessories for Extruded HV Cables (Study
Committee B1) are going to be available
and can be purchased during the Paris
2014 session. The Green Books on High
Voltage Equipment (Study Committee
A3), Substations (Study Committee B3)
and Protection and Automation (Study
Committee B5) are in preparation.
