Build networks and customize their learning environments in ways that support the learning process.

Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an
interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Seesaw is a student driven app in which students are able to create portfolios. In terms of teachers, Seesaw is
a useful app that allows for them to keep track of their students works. They are able to manage what is
uploaded and communicate easier with parents. Parents are able to access their students portfolios and
communicate easier with the teachers since they can message and use the app for parent-teacher conferences.
Students can use the app to upload their best work and provide feedback.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?

I would use this for when I am looking to grade my students in their ability to provide feedback. The app
allows for them to post their projects and comment on each others works. I can manage their feedback, and
make sure they know that I want more of constructive criticism rather than short and simple sentences saying
Good Job! They would feel more motivated to be able to critic their project through the app than writing it
on paper.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION

I would rate the app a 2 because there are definitely other ways for students to keep track of their
assignments. There are various creative ways that dont involve technology to make sure that the students
keep their best works. However, the app would enhance the learning environment and would save paper for
the students. They would be doing all their assignments exclusively on their technology devices rather than
getting poster boards and paper for their essays.
