COMPARE & CONTRAST

DIFFERENT IDEOLOGIES FOR


THE PERFORMING ART

Introduction:
I have chosen a group of six students, girls, and boys from a different nationality.
They are 3 4 years old.
I pick a music and movement lesson.
It was Baby Shark Dance.
The lesson was after the break which it was about 10:30 AM.
The Video I have recorded took about 4 minutes.
CLO:
Comparing and contrasting.

The children will move and dance according to the
song and movement on the video. They will move
their body, hands and legs.

I choose the six students and asked them to stand on the circle time with two
lines in a proper way.
I used the smartboard to put the song for them.
The video implemented in front of the teacher, the assistance and the other students in
the classroom.

Extension ideas:
o The next time I will do an activity after the music, and I will do masks according to the
music theme.

Issues:
o The issues that faced me in the lesson was the voice of the song was too low, and the
time on the of the things that met me because I didnt have enough time to take
children and practice th
Performing art:
Support:
According to Reggio Emilia theory, it supports the performing art because it
encourages the students to express themselves, listen and learn through movement
and sound.

Opposed:
According to B.F. Skinner he believe the children can only develop their skills by the
positive and negative reinforcement.

According to Froebel, he supports the performing art because he thinks that the
classroom is alive with finger plays and the songs. Also, he believes that the performing
art develops the motor skills in the child.

Opposed:
According to John Watson, he was interested in the in condition of the emotion, he
focuses on behaviorism. He believes psychology seen as a science
Justification
In my opinion I support Froebel, because he support the performing art, and I think it
helps the children to develop their motor skills and it makes the children more engaged
for the lesson.
