I am writing this letter of recommendation at the request of Lauren King. Lauren has applied for a position in
Childrens Hospital Colorados New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. I know Lauren better than most students.
During the 2016-2017 school year, Lauren was an officer in our pre-professional service club, the Student Nurses at the
University of Arizona (SNUA), for which I am faculty advisor. And currently, she is enrolled in a community-nursing
course I am teaching this semester. Based on my observations of Lauren as a student and a leader, I believe she will
make an excellent candidate for a position in the program.

Lauren has many strengths. In her role as SNUA president, Lauren consistently demonstrated hard work, organizational
skills, initiative, and a commitment to service. She was also reliable and responsible, as she consistently met deadlines
and completed assigned tasks. Lauren was a team player and worked well with others.

As a student, Lauren is intelligent and creative, which she demonstrates by the quality of her work. Lauren is
enthusiastic, outgoing, articulate and a natural leader. Lauren has demonstrated initiative by taking advantage of extra-
curricular and service opportunities outside regularly scheduled hours and days. For example, she interned with Teen
Outreach Pregnancy Services, a nurse-driven local non-profit. This optional clinical rotation involved additional
training, meetings, and flexibility. As a result, Lauren had more experiences than most of her peers in health education
and working with this at-risk population. Most importantly, Lauren consistently demonstrated a passion for caring and
nursing.

In conclusion, I highly recommend you select Lauren King for a position in your nurse residency program. If her
performance at the University of Arizona College of Nursing is any indication of how she will perform as a registered
