Dear Mentoring School Teacher
Thank you for agreeing to take an HCT semester 7 student-teacher for teaching practice this
semester. The practicum element of the curriculum is crucial for student-teachers to learn and
acquire the skills, concepts, values and attitudes of an effective, reliable and professional
educator and your role in this process is invaluable.
This booklet provides guidelines for mentoring school teachers and student-teachers as well as
