Calories in Filipino Food?

Posted on November 25, 2011

I know I havent been writing a lot in this blog, but as of late, I figured that the stuff I was picking up about
losing weight and counting calories was going to be helpful to other people, too. So, while I was on my weight-
watching mission, I found an interesting article from the Inquirer, which was first published on Cebu Daily
News in 2008.

Sadly, while it was informative, it was kind of a pain to read through to figure out how many calories was in
that spoonful of lugaw I had. Well, a simple Ctrl+F was a quick solution to that, but I think in the long run, its
better to tabulate it for easy reading. So heres my attempt to tabulate it all for you guys!

And that is it from the article! Amusingly, while Filipino meals may not be the healthiest of the bunch (oh god,
adobo), our desserts are a lot more easier on the calories as compared to Western pastries. So, the next time
youre craving something sweet, you might find a little more satisfaction looking for a taho stand than
waddling over to the nearest Krispy Kreme.
