Access/Egress
Outline Hazard Controls:
- Hazards - Good housekeeping in workplace and access zones.
- Hazard Controls - Avoid contact with equipment.
- Inspection (unsafe conditions/acts) - Grounding for electrical equipment.
- Adequate lighting.
- Barrier or cover, open trenches.
- Label and lock any unsafe doors.
- Suitable emergency lighting.
- ID: each worker should maintain the site work ID.
- Maintain clear routes /walkways from obstructions (storage for
materials).
Hazards: -

Remove waste packing to skips on a regular basis.
Safety Signs: e.g. Exit
- Slipping/ Tripping.
- Falls into open trench/ducts - Identify walkway
- Falls of materials - No parking in front of exit door or next to it.
- Manual handling injuries - All doors are open and unimpeded for escape routes or emergency exits.
- Live exposed equipments - Evacuation action plan should be clearly visible.
- Toxicity by inhalation - Fire alarm systems (regular inspection)
- Firefighting training
Means of Egress: exit access; the exit; and exit
discharge. - Fire extinguishers (monthly inspection records)
- Escape routes must be marked, lighted, free of obstructions, and locks
must not be used to impede or prevent escape
