Students will be able to work on creating - Help with spelling, and use of different tenses

Higher Order Questions:


When do we do use past tense verbs? If it happened yesterday what tense would I use? If Im
going to complete a verb tomorrow what tense will I use? Why is it important to change the
tenses on the verbs? What do we have irregular verbs?
Time: Activities

Building Background
-First, begin with reading "When I was Five" by Arthur Howard
-Next I will go over the different endings that a verb can have when it is completed in
a different tense.
-Expalin to kids irregular verbs
-When to use the right verb
-Next show the students the links provided below "what did you do today" to help
them understand past tense.
-Show "the cat song"
-Ask if they have any questions
-Pass out worksheet that has 12 senteces where the students have to pick the correct
verb.
Complete the first two sentences with the students as part of modeling.
Let the students work individually

Using a color pencil have them trade with their shoulder partner to grade their papers.

When do we use diffent tenses of a verb.
Make sure every one understands that we must change the ending of the berb in
order to know in what tense we are talking.
