The Relevance of Political Science in Modern Day Issues

Political Science provides an unbiased perspective towards the issues that

surround todays modern society, thus enabling those who use the said
practice to view the matter in a more critical and theoretical approach. These
aspects require a more scientific process to acquire the answer or the truth.
Science utilizes a naming system that connects what we think of as world and
mind; and according to the writings of Philip Converse, these are used to point
out the truth that corresponds to the reality of the situation. In order to properly
assess the topic at hand, there needs to be some form of intellectual basis in
which the citizens are provided with a conceptual and logical argument in
comparison to those based solely on subjective opinions and observations.

According to Ellen Grigsby, politics encompass decisions that dictate how we

live our common life, that even the simplest of rules indicate how you are
involved and affected by numerous political systems. The continuous increase
of the people who disregard certain, if not all aspects of the discipline will be
unable to assess the issue from all prospects. This is not an ideal way of
handling political issues, seeing as it will not allow the said individual to apply
concrete data and theories that will provide a more rational argument.

Basing the stance that one takes on actual empirical data or evidence can
emphasize the academic or scientific aspect of it, thus broadening the
understanding of the actual topic. This should be seen as important, seeing as
the citizens of the state can use the scientific process of things in order to be
more aware of the different political concepts that affect them. If this is not
made a priority then it may risk the possibility of simply being under the
influence of a corrupt government or institutions that only promote certain
ideals or policies for the sake of money.

Siding with a political party or a stance on an issue is not uncommon in society.

However, what makes it different is how the community handles the said
polarization. The people must be willing to fully understand the separate ideas
. Those who stand on opposite sides of the matter will not be able to
comprehend the belief that each respectively holds. Using the ideas of Political
Science, however, will offer insights that can acknowledge both views and
create some form of compromise.
This form of political compromise is needed in order to maintain a society in
which a majority, if not all, is given the necessities that they require or to fulfill
the type of belief or ideology that they partake in. It is done in order to ensure
that these needs are met and how they plan to attain these said needs should
be decided through a tempered voice, in the form of the study of Political
Science. This is done so the masses will be able to perceive the positive and
negative effects a certain decision will bring or the outcome of an event that
may create an impact on a specific crowd of people.

While there are divisions among the community, it isnt exactly something that
is entirely new. The state is composed of a diverse set of people, and allowing
them to participate in a political party that appeals to them is a right that cannot
be taken away within a democratic country. Although the rift between two
political identities cannot be avoided, the members should still be
knowledgeable about the opposing side in order to properly evaluate the
benefits of each side and to conclude whether or not it will provide progress for
the country and its citizens.

It is necessary in order to indicate the concepts that numerous Political

Scientists have rigorously studied and provided knowledge for, that will be
relevant to certain topics that we need objective answers to. This is needed in
order to ensure that no specific fraction of society will have an extremely large
advantage over the others or to retain the political integrity that should remain
over the people of the state. Thus it maybe able to provide an outcome that will
be favorable for a majority of the citizens, and generate results that will create
a better community.
