Ph.D. ADMISSION NOTICE : ACADEMIC SESSION 2017-18

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appearing at the RESEARCH
ELIGIBILITY TEST (RET) EXAMINATION-2017 to pursue research in the following
Departments as per Ph.D Rules 2017.

The number of vacant seats may increase or decrease

Eligibility: Candidates holding a Master Degree with 55% marks (50% for
SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the concerned subjects or allied subjects from any
recognized University or Institute of National Importance are eligible to apply
admission into Ph.D. Programme.
The students who have fulfilled all other essential requirements as mentioned
above and have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET /
GATE and / or are Teacher Fellowship holders or have passed the M.Phil
Examinations shall not be required to appear in the Entrance Test.

Form duly filled in may be submitted online to the Deputy Registrar (I/C),
Academic, TU on or before 9th September, 2017. No offline application will be
entertained.

Displaying of Lists of eligible candidates: The list of candidates eligible to appear

at RET-2017 will be displayed in the Tripura University Website on 12th
September, 2017.

Admit Cards: Applicants shall download their admit card from online portal (see
general instruction)

Date of Examination: The written examination for the Research Eligibility Test
will be held on 15th September, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Academic
Building-XI, TU, for all the subjects.

The Viva-voce Examination will be held as per the convenience of the concerned
departments on 15th September & 16th September, 2017 from 2 PM onwards in
the respective departments.

Written Examination of RET: There will be Written Examination of 100 marks on

the basis of Post-Graduate syllabus of the concerned subject of Tripura University.
The Qualifying Marks for the Entrance Test will be 50%. There will be 50 Question
(MCQ/Short) of 2 marks each for the Written Entrance Test of RET.

Result of RET will be displayed in the University Notice Board & University
Website: www.tripurauniv.in on 22nd September, 2017.

Selection Procedure: The Candidates qualified in the Written Entrance Test being
a part of the RET and others who are exempted from appearing at the Written
Entrance Test will be treated as candidates to appear at Viva-voce Examination of
100 Marks in the concerned Department.

The subject-wise Merit List will be prepared by the concerned Department on the
basis of the result of Viva-voce Examination.
 Result: Final list of selected candidates will be published on 22nd September,
2017.

Qualified candidates will be admitted in the relevant subjects depending on the

number of availability of seats under the respective Ph.D. supervisors of a
department.

Note: Qualifying in RET does not entitle a candidate to get admission into the
Ph.D. programme.
