Introduction

At this point, you might be asking yourself whether you really need a lip
moisturizer at all. The answer to that question is YES! When the weather is changing
one day its cold, the other day its very hot believe it or not, our lips are
suffering. Consider that it is summertime and our lips tend to become drier, dehydrated
and chapped more quickly than the rest of your skin would, everyone should have a
HONEY BALM: BEE MOISTURIZED on their pockets.

Healthy lips represent the health of our body for our lips are one of the most
sensitive and environmentally susceptible parts of our body, not to mention that they are
the gate-keepers to the sensitive mucus membranes of the mouth; yet, many
consumers thoughtlessly purchase and use commercialized lip brands that not only
contain harmful ingredients but additionally, do nothing to naturally soften and protect
the lips. So that is why it is important to use an all-natural honey flavoured lip balm.

Worry no more, because we believe if we have healthy lips, it will boost our
confidence and also make us feel comfortable.
HONEY BALM: BEE moisturized!

Ingredients and Procedure

Ingredients:

50 g of Petroleum Jelly
1 tablespoon of Honey
Pandan oil (only few drops needed)

Procedure:

1. Spoon some petroleum jelly into a bowl. Make sure it's a microwave-safe bowl,
and not a metal one. Use 50 g of petroleum jelly or you can make an entire
container of lip gloss if you want to use the whole jar.
2. Melt the jelly in the microwave. Place the bowl in the microwave and zap it on
"high" for about 30 seconds. Take it out of the microwave and give it a stir. If the
jelly is still clumpy, microwave it again until it's smooth and runny.
3. Add some scent or flavor. You can scent or flavor the petroleum jelly by adding
a few drops of pandan oil or another favorite.
4. Add a tablespoon of honey. This will give the gloss some shine and make it
taste a little sweet on your lips. Since honey has antibacterial and moisturizing
properties, it's also great for conditioning your lips and keeping them from drying
out.
5. Pour it into a container. You can use the original petroleum jelly container or
pour it into a cute makeup pot or old lip gloss container.
6. Let it set. Set it out at room temperature or put it in the refrigerator to let it cool
down. Don't use it until it's no longer runny. This lip gloss will stay a little soft, so
the easiest way to apply it is with your finger or a makeup applicator brush.

Problem

Today people suffer from cracked and dry lips because of too much heat and
change of season as well as other foods that creates dry lips.

Background of the project

Lip balm or lip salve is a wax-like substance applied topically to the lips of
the mouth to moisturize and relieve chapped or dry lips, angular cheilitis, stomatitis,
or cold sores. Lip balm often contains beeswax or carnauba wax, camphor, cetyl
alcohol, lanolin, paraffin, andpetrolatum, among other ingredients. Some varieties
contain dyes, flavor, fragrance, phenol, salicylic acid, and sunscreens.[1][2][3]
The primary purpose of lip balm is to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to
seal moisture in lips and protect them from external exposure. Dry air, cold
temperatures, and wind all have a drying effect on skin by drawing moisture away from
the body. Lips are particularly vulnerable because the skin is so thin, and thus they are
often the first to present signs of dryness.[4] Occlusive materials like waxes
and petroleum jelly prevent moisture loss and maintain lip comfort while flavorants,
colorants, sunscreens, and various medicaments can provide additional, specific
benefits.
Lip balm can be applied where a finger is used to apply it to the lips, or in a lipstick-style
tube from which it can be applied directly.
