Value Proposition

Tata Kisan Kendra (TKK) is an initiative by Tata Chemicals Limited (part of the
Tata group) having the objective to provide the farmer with a package of inputs
and services for optimum utilization of well turned primary nutrients, plant
protection chemicals, water; seeds, post-harvest services and to develop a
genuine partnership with the farmers.
It is one of the initiatives taken up by big merchant groups aiming towards
improving the quality of life of Indian farmers.
TKKs are designed to be one-stop centers for all agricultural problems. They thus
offer a wide range of services.
They provide the farmers with trusted agro inputs such as seeds, fertilizers,
pesticides at affordable prices.
They moreover provide the facility for farmers to lease out sublet equipment and
implements, enabling farmers to use modern machinery if they cant hire it.
They maintain a library of journals and magazines to help the farmers up to
stage with the new techniques and latest developments.
Moreover they provide agronomy services such as soil testing, soil mapping and
fertilizer testing.
Training coupled with demos is moreover provided to the farmers by sense
members from universities and government institutions working in the zone of
agriculture.
TKKs moreover have the provision for facilities such as yield insurance and other
credit facilities.

Customer Segments

It is currently zippy in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.


Presently, there are 32 hubs, which cater to 650 Tata Kisan Sansars, covering
around 22,000 villages reaching out to approx. 3.5 million farmers. The Tata
Kisan Sansars are spread across 68 districts in the North Zone and 20 districts in
the East Zone spanning 4 and 3 states respectively
An interesting full-length of this initiative is that it not only focuses on largest
information, equipment and knowledge to the farmers regarding agriculture, but
also aims at providing overall details for the farming community.
To be a member of TKK is a matter of pride and is based on factors such as
literacy, land owned, age and progressiveness of thought.
Training regarding farming is moreover provided to the farmers wives.
Moreover, they are taught well-nigh health, hygiene, child-care and things such
as embroidery and sewing.
There are moreover unrepeatable student awards for the children. Exhibition
halls at these centers organize educational, social and moreover entertainment
events in order to build largest relations between farmers and their families.
