The Weather in English

In English, we usually use It is when we talk about the weather.

This is normally: It is + adjective OR It is + verb-ing

It is + adjective = A description of the weather

Its sunny today. Hoy est soleado.

It's hot and humid today. Hace calor y est hmedo hoy.
It's cloudy. Est nublado.
It's foggy. Hay niebla.
It's very sultry tonight. Esta noche hace mucho bochorno.
It's warm and sunny at the moment. Est clido y soleado en este momento.
Dont go out! It's frosty. No salgas! Est helado.
I dont want to get up. It's freezing! No quiero levantarme. Hace un fro terrible!

We can also say:

It is a + adjective + day (or morning/afternoon/evening/night)

It's a fine day. Es un lindo da.

It's a windy afternoon. Es una tarde con viento o es una tarde ventosa.
Its a muggy evening. Es una noche con bochorno o es una tarde bochornosa.
It's a nice day today. Hoy es un lindo da.
It's a frosty morning. Es una maana helada o es una maana escarchada.

It is + verb-ing = This type of weather is happening now.

It's drizzling ouside. Afuera est lloviznando.

It's snowing. Est nevando
Take an umbrella, it's raining. Lleva un paraguas, est lloviendo.
