To Whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Jessica and I would love to work with your organization. I have a passion for living
consciously that is reflected in my professional experience and personal life. I would be proud to work
with a group that shares my values and beliefs.

I am currently on contract with Alternatives Journal, a not-for-profit environmental magazine. My respon-

sibilities are focused on managment of Alternatives’ affiliated websites. Creating a marketing plan and
communications strategy, I developed, designed and launched greenbookreviews.ca and thegreenstudent.ca.
The sites have gained a significant following and positive reception from media -- including the Waterloo
Chronicle and various blogs -- and industry stakeholders (i.e. publishers, bookstores and education profes-
sionals). I have also designed several ads and spreads for the magazine, including the 2010 Environmental
Education Directory.

My position with Borden Communications has provided me with a broad range of relevant experience that
would be beneficial to this position. I have enhanced my skills by developing marketing plans, materials
and brands. I initiated Borden Communications’ online presence through blogging, Facebook and Twitter, as
well as introduced clients to social media and online marketing. One rewarding project involved the suc-
cessful launch of Takeout Without, a campaign to reduce restaurant waste. Our team developed concepts,
tag line, graphics and website.

In my E-commerce Coordinator position with Grassroots Environmental Products, I managed Grassroots’

website and online efforts, which entailed market research, photography, uploading of news & events, con-
tent management, and web analytics to monitor various marketing efforts. During my time at Grassroots,
I successfully designed and developed a product symbol key to better communicate and promote
Grassroots’ philosophy.

I have had numerous roles where I have organized and prioritized tasks, meeting deadlines to produce
consistent and thorough results. Having computer expertise, good judgment and excellent interpersonal
skills, I feel that I would be an ideal candidate for this position. I would welcome an opportunity to further
discuss my qualifications.

Best Regards,

Jessica Laplante

Raising Animals for Food
Damages the Environment
Whether it's the overuse of energy,
food and water resources or the
increase in air pollution and soil
erosion, raising animals for food is
wreaking havoc on the Earth. The
most important step you can take
to save the planet is to go vegetar-
ian.

* Livestock production is responsible

for more climate change gasses
than all the motor vehicles in the
world. - United Nations Report, 2006

* A vegetarian diet requires only a

half acre of land – seven times less
land than a meat-based diet. -
www.veg.ca

* Animals raised for food produce

130 times as much excrement as
the entire U.S. popultion. Roughly
89,000 pounds per second, all with-
out the benefit of waste treatment
systems. - World Watch Institute

What Can You Do?

You can do your part to stand
up to the destructive meat in-
dustry by adopting a vegetarian
diet. With so many great veg-
etarian options, eating green has
never been more delicious.
Whether you're doing it for the
environment, your own health, or
for the sake of animals, you
have the power to change the
world, simply by changing what's
