ERA PP-R PIPES s FITTINGS FOR COLD I HOT WATER
Characteristics
Health is taken as a major concern dunng p.od.1clion of ERA pipes and fitting.
''
Connee1!on ol pipes does not require addilives SJJCh as cernern solvent, nuxes or solder.
To ensure the safety of ERA pipes and fillings usage relating lo human contact ,md consump11on wllh
potable water the following are stricUy adhered IO
KTW Recommendations
Federal Health Of'ice, Germany
DVGW Test Certmcale based on KTW reCOC'l'lmer'ldalions for Materials In Contact w,th Drinking Water

with sufficient oxygen, only carbon dioxide and waler vapour are produced as the raw matel'ia or Polypropylene'"
Random Co-polymer ls hydrocarbon chain. Toxic fumes or dioxin will not be emitted.
For appllcatlons where constant UV al(l)OSure Is needed , ERA UV I Solar pipes 6hould ba used. For prolong
lifeapan, a protective paint In Black or Jeeket should be used.
Compared lo melalllc pipes ERA does net need further lnsuallon to decttlase Ille decibel 181/er when water flows
el relatively high speeds. The rea,on Is 1lmply lhet metals transmit noises qu.cker and louder, w111rees, plastics dampen

ERA Pro<luc~ ere produced with UV stabilisers. Howevor. like ell olhfl' piping system$ Including m0101s pipe worko

For appllootlons where con:.tal\t UV exposure Is needed, ERA UV I Soler plJ'9s should be used. Por prolong
ltfespan, a protective pa,nt in Black or jacket should be used.
From the ebove properties of ERA systems and appl, cat,on areas, compared to other c:onvent, onal metal or

Installation Technique
Installation for ERA plplng system is not different from any other conventional piping systems. except for the
superior leak proof fusion joining system.
However, there are some finer points and guidelines that need special attention when lnstaning eRA.
For visible plpo works that need aesthetics, proper support Intervals ace necessary. This wtll prevent unslgthly
but common snaking" or sangglng found in plastic ~ systems.

Installation Technique
Step 1 Once the Linear Expansion Is esteblished, oompensaoon for tms expansion can be made by Elith&< en
Expansion Elbow or Expansion Loop.
The expansioo Elbow method 11$9$ the ptfnclple QI directional change (e!ba ... joint), to compensale for linear
' expansion. In oases where compensation with direction changs is not possible, I.e. a straight pipe length
paulng through pipe slesves and In bstween 2 beams, an Expansion Loop Is then used.

Installation Technique

For lransportation of hot water, like ill metal or plastic pipes. we have to deal with its linear expansion. This
.applies only to PN 20 pipes for hot water applications No consideration is necessary for PN 25, Stable
pipes as the coefficienl or linear expansion is 3.0 x 10-'(k"').
The coefficient of linear expansion for ERA PN20 ptpes Is 15.0 x 10 '(I<"').
