Note: This procedure and all equipment limitations should be used as
with TBR
guidelines and verified with the Smith Services, Completion Systems
Operator. Changes in well conditions, equipment modifications and/or
running procedures could cause or call for different limitations.

1 Equipment and Limitations:

The CLT is a compression set tieback packer. It consists of a seal stack fitting
the Liner top TBR, Packer part and a setting adapter with TBR. The packer is
set by set down weigh when stabbed into the liner top TBR. A Anti-trip safety
lock system prevents accidental setting while running in. It must be activated
by the liner tieback receptacle in order to set the packer. Note: The CLT
Isolation Packer is a special design, 'close tolerance' tool and must be run
at a slow rate to prevent damage.)

2 Preparation:

Prior to running the CLT tieback packer assembly, Smith Services, completion systems service
personnel will meet with all involved parties to discuss operations in detail. This discussion will
include current well conditions, previous liner installation, drill out of cement above the liner top,
clean out of the liner. The main discussions will cover the running a Liner Top Isolation Packer . The
next operations are also to be covered. Data from the clean out trip is to be collected as a reference
during running( up weight, down weight, torque and circulation rates above the liner top). Make sure
the running string will provide enough weight to fully set the packer. The packing element needs up
to 40.000 lbs compression.

2.1 Well status: Liner is installed. Liner top is cleaned

2.2 Rig site inspection. On arrival at the rig site Completion Systems service personnel will
inspect all equipment and service tools to verify condition, completeness and dimensional
accuracy. The inspection will include the following items:
2.2.1 Identify all equipment and check against shipping manifest and Job Ticket.
2.2.2 Verify that all connections are correct and will make up properly with the running
string.
2.2.3 Caliper all equipment, verify with inspection drawings provided by local Completion
Systems Operations and record.
2.2.4 Verify that the Liner top TBR will fit the OD and length of the Seal stack on the CLT
packer.
2.2.5 Verify the OD of the packer versus the casing ID and the OD on the previous clean
up trip.

3.0 CLT tieback packer Running Procedures

3.1 Clean out / Dress mill procedure, see separate procedure. If a optional test seal assembly is to
be run, see section 4.1.
3.2 Make up the CLT Liner Top Isolation Packer and Running Tool to the running string. Some
drill collars (approx. 20,000 to 40,000 lbs.) are recommended to provide the weight required
to set the packer. Make up drill collars to drill pipe and run three to four stands of drill pipe.
3.3 Continue in the hole with drill pipe, maintaining slow running rate and monitoring weight
indicator for any loss of weight. Take care when entering BOP, well head and previous liner
tops.
3.4 Reduce running speed two to three stands above top of liner.. Break circulation and circulate
at slow rate for 5 minutes one stand above liner top . Stop circulation and record up and
down weight

3.5 When last stand is made up, slowly lower work string to start the Isolation Packer seal
assembly into the liner tieback receptacle. Monitor weight indicator as seals enter the tieback,
lower work string to set the Packer safety trip sleeve (at the bottom of the packing elements)
above the liner tieback receptacle. Pressure test to verify that the seal nipple seals are
functional.
3.6 Slack-off work string until bumper jars close (if used) and weight is applied to the packer.
The packer setting sleeve will be pinned for approximately 35,000 lbs. When the sleeve
shears, the packing elements will be energized and the packer hold down slip assembly
released and set.
3.7 Apply annular pressure to test the packer (when equipped with an 'RCB') to the required test
pressure, hold pressure and monitor for pressure loss and/or circulation, indicating proper
setting of the packer. Release pressure after 15 minutes or when specified.
3.8 Release the packer running tool as follows: Slack-off approximately 10,000 lbs. of drill pipe
weight on the running tool. Set the drill pipe slips and slack-off remainder of the drill pipe
weight. Rotate to the right five (5) to seven (7) rounds and check for torque return. Repeat
this procedure until sixteen (16) to twenty (20) torque free rounds are made at the running
tool. Pick up until the running tool is above the packer and circulate and condition as
required.
3.9 Trip out of hole.
3.10 Inspect running tool and pack for shipment.

4.0 Optional Procedures

4.1.1 If required by the customer the following Optional Test Seal Procedures can be used in
section 3.1: Make up Test Seal Assembly on bottom of work string and run in the hole at
specified rate to prevent damage.
4.1.2 Reduce running rate two to three stands prior to reaching liner top. Lower work string to tag
the top of the liner tieback receptacle. Monitor weight indicator, seals will 'drag' as they are
inserted into the tieback receptacle. Slack-off 10,000 to 15,000 lbs. of drill pipe weight on
seal assembly locator and liner tieback receptacle. (Note: Slack-off weight may need to be
adjusted to maintain seals in the tieback receptacle if the seals are tested down the drill
pipe. Annular pressure testing of the seals and tieback is recommended).
4.1.3 Pressure test to recommended pressure, maintain pressure for approximately 15 minutes and
observe for pressure bleed off and/or circulation. Release pressure, pull seal assembly above
the liner top and circulate and condition as required.
4.1.4 Trip out of hole with work string, lay down test seal assembly and prepare to run the liner top
isolation packer. Continue to section 3.2.
