1 Essential Information

This chapter describes the remote control, the layout of Main Menu Interface and switching
between Main Menu Interface and Video Interface.

1.1 Remote Control

The remote control of H600/700/900 HD Terminal can be used to have a conference call,
adjust the volume, control camera, select menus and so on. The keyboard in detail is
following:

Note

Please change remote controls battery when the remote control appears abnormal:

1. The infrared light is blind;

2. The key is not sensitive;

3. The key is no effective;


4. The remote control switches to Terminal Mode automatically.

1.2 Remote Control Mode Settings

The remote control has 3 modes which are Terminal Mode, Camera Mode, Controlling the
Terminal through Camera Mode.

Terminal Mode

In this mode, with the remote control you can have a conference call, adjust the volume,
control the camera, and have menu selection, type in characters and so on.

Camera Mode

With the remote control in this mode, you can adjust the cameras position, zoom camera
in/out, or regulate brightness, etc.

Controlling the Terminal through Camera Mode

Point the remote control towards the camera in this mode.

Camera version which supports Camera Mode: KEDACOM TrueVixon100, HD90, HD85,
HD95D, HD90D, HD85D and SONY D31, D70, 7V, EV1- HD1.

Camera version which supports Controlling the Terminal through Camera Mode:
KEDACOM HD85D, HD90D, HD95D.

1.3 Main Menu Interface

There are two kinds of Main Menu Interface, they are Conference Main Menu Interface and
Consultation Main Menu Interface.

Main Menu Interface

Conference Main Menu Interface:

Calling Information Region: Input IP or E.164 Number, Call Rate;

Function Navigation Region: Address Book, Call Records, Camera, Snapshot,


Tools, System Setup, Template;

HotKey Region: Set HotKeys functions.

Consultation Main Menu Interface (Idle):

Calling Information Region: Input IP or E.164Number, Call Rate;

Function Navigation Region: Join Discussion, Conference Call, Address Book,


Call Records, Camera, Snapshot, Tools, System Setup;

HotKey Region: Set HotKeys functions.

In Discussion mode, the Main Menu interface will display Managers, Call Bit Rate, Capacity,
Participant, and Non-encrypted Multi-group Conference.

Note

Consultation means Multi-groups Conference which multiple groups of conference can


access the MCU bridging by registering through Access Process Server (APS for short)
successfully. Terminals can automatically go into different virtual conference rooms for their
individual meeting.

1.4 Select Main Menu Interface or Video Interface

Press button on remote control, switch between Main Menu Interface and Video

Interface.

1.5 Display Mode Settings

The terminal supports 3 types of Main Menu Interface. They are Simple UI Mode, Norm al
UI Mode, and Advance UI Mode.

Simple UI Mode

There is no Function Navigation Region when the Main Menu Interface is in this mode.

Press button, it will appear.

Normal UI Mode

There is no HotKey Region in this mode. There are only Address Book, Call Records,

Camera and Template. Press button, Function Navigation Region will appear

completely.

Advance UI Mode

All Regions are displayed up completely.

Procedures to set display mode are as follows:

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Syste m Setup Normal Setup

Display Mode;

2. In UI Mode drop-down list, select Simple UI Mode, Normal UI Mode or Advance UI

Mode.

1.6 Icon Status

1.7 Character Input Method

The terminal supports input of specific symbol, figure, alphabet and simplified Chinese.

1.7.4 Simplified Chinese Input

1. Press button continuously, and select ;

2. Input the phonetic alphabet for Chinese, characters and the Chinese input window will
appear, it contains 3 function regions as below.

If the Chinese character that you need appears in Chinese Electing Region, press number

button accordingly. Otherwise, press button and it will turn into Phoneticize Electing

Region.

1. Select the letter by pressing number button;

2. Select Chinese by pressing number button, entry to next group with the downward
direction key.

1.8 Language Setting

2 Calling and Answering

2.1 Conference

There are two types of conferences which will be formed according to the numbers of
participants.

Point-to-point Conference: a video conference established by one terminal calling to


the other terminal.

Multipoint Conference: a video conference in which there are many participants, and
you can have it by calling the Multipoint Control Unit (MCU for short below) or by creating a
template on the terminal with connections through MCU.

Ways of having a call are as follows:

2.1.1 Call through Main Menu Interface

To place a call using the Main Menu Interface, please do as follows:

1. In Conference Main Menu Interface, enter calling information in Calling Information


Region;

Conference Calling Information

Point-to-point Conference Far-ends IP address, E.164 Number, Alias

MCUs IP address, E.164 Number, Alias


Multipoint Conference
Conferences E.164 Number(recommended)

2. On Call Rate drop-down list, select or enter call rate base on the terminals capacity
and network bandwidth;

3. Press button.

If there are several available conferences, you will need to use the directional key to join
the desired conference.

If the conference is encrypted, you must type in the correct password to enter into the
conference.

Note

Once terminals Auto Call is be enabled, it will call the configured address automatically.
And after terminal reboot, it will call the address.

information.

2.1.2 Speed Dial

Speed dial can be utilized if the button in the remote control had been

defined for Call Shortcut Setting with designated call address.

more information.

2.1.3 Call through Address Book

Terminals address book can save most frequent calls, MCU IP address or desired
conference number for speed dial function.

For details about creating and saving address, please refer to chapter 9.

Use the following steps for calling through Address Book:

1. Press button from the remote control to enter the Address Book;

2. Use the directional key to select Address List;

3. Use the directional key to select the address on the box on the right side;

4. Press button on remote control to initiate the call.

Note

If there are many entries in the address book, you can use the alphabet button to search
from the list. For e.g.: if the first letter is "S" according to the name Smith, using the remote
control key and press where PQRS letters are, the cursor will locate with the letter P from
the beginning and you may use the directional key to move the cursor to the word Smith.

2.1.4 Call through Conference Template

When connected to a MCU for multi-points conference, a terminal will follow the
conference templates to attain meetings.The conference template contains the
conferences basic information and settings. Through a template, conference session can
be called up by using its E164 number, , alias name or IP address. See section 10.1 for
MCU conference template creation and template saving.

Steps for calling through conference template as follows:

1. Select icon from Main Menu Interface to create a conference template;

2. Use up, down directional key to select Meeting List which will appear on the right side
of the screen;

3. Use left, right directional key to move through the template list and up, down to select
the desired template;

4. Press button to call.

2.1.5 Call through Call Records

Call records had recorded ALL Records, Call-out Records , Call-in Records , Missed Calls
information including Entry Name, IP Address, H.323 ID, E.164 Number.

Steps for calling through Call Records as follows:

1. In Main Menu Interface select Call Records to enter Call Records;

2. Use the directional key to select Call Record List;

3. Use the directional key to select All Records, Call-out Records, Call-in Records or
Missed Calls, the record list will then appear on the right side of the menu;

4. Use the directional key to select the call party including Terminal, MCU or conference
template;

5. Press button to call.

2.2 MC Settings (H900)

H900 series HD terminals built-in meeting console, namely the inner MC is used for
holding up to six terminals in one video conference session.

Inner MC Function Setup

1. To enable H900 Inner MC: in Syste m Setup Advanced Setup Multi


Conference, select Enable MC;

The terminal must be equipped with a MC module inserted before enabling this function.

2. Set audio protocol of the local H900 series terminal and make sure that the first
terminal to call has the same for audio protocol. Then that audio protocol will be the defined

protocol for the conference session. To set the audio protocol, in Syste m Setup

Normal Setup Call Setup layout.

Calling Multiple Terminals by Using Inner MC

1. In Main Menu Interface, input the information such as (IP address, E.164 number),

enter the call rate and press button;

2. After the call established, in video screen press button and a pop up menu will
appear;

3. Select Multipoint and press button to bring in the next remote terminal to the
multipoint conference session;

After the 2nd call established, the local terminal with inner MC function will automatically
become Chairman of the conference session.

4. Press button and a pop up operation menu will appear, select Invite to bring in
the 3rd remote terminal;
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to bring the rest of the intended remote terminals.

Note

A <kedalicense.key> is required for use of inner MC functions. Please refer to H600 700
900 Series HD Terminal Administrators Guide for details.

2.3 Consultation

We defined the calling Consultation when the terminals or conference are successfully
registered under the Kedacoms Access Process Server software bridging (APS for short),
so that H600/700/900 HD Terminal can use Join Discussion and do Conference Call.

Ways of having a conference call are as follows:

2.3.1 Main Menu Interface Calling

You can type in IP address or E.164 Number in Calling Information Region in Consultation
Main Menu Interface with H600/700/900 HD Terminal. Procedures in detail are as follows:

1. In Consultation Main Menu Interface, enter E.164 number in Calling Information


Region;

2. In Call Rate drop-down list, select or enter rate on the basis of terminals capacity and
network bandwidth;

3. Press .

2.3.2 Conference Call

After successfully registering to APS, press Conference Call in Consultation Main

Menu Interface, to join in a consultation.

The address is not in Directory

1. In Input Number region, input the partys E.164 number (it must be successfully
registered to APS);

2. Press button, the party will be added to the lists automatically, and button will
appear;
3. Repeat step1 and 2 to add more parties.

Directory address

1. Select the address with the up-down directional key on the remote control, press

button, and button will appear;

2. Repeat step1 and 2, to add more parties.


After inviting all the terminals, proceed to the procedures as shown below:

1. Select Call Rate drop down list with right direction key, press button, a pop up
for call rate lists will appear;

2. Select the rate with up-down direction key, press button;

3. Press Call.

If you define as Enter Multi-group Conf., you can press the

corresponding HotKey, please refer to chapter 5.12 of H600/700/900 Series HD Terminal


Administrators Guide for more details.

Note

The temporary party in Conference Call will only exist in current consultation, it will not be
saved under Address Book.

You can select On-line and Off-line address. Please refer to chapter 2.3.5 for detailed
descriptions about On-line and Off-line address.

2.3.3 Join Discussion

Join Discussion means term inal can have a consultation by calling the template,

procedures are as shown below:

1. In Consultation Main Menu Interface, select Join Discussion , enter into the

Enter Consultation Interface;

2. Select template with direction key, press button.

When there are many templates available, you can select other templates by pressing the
downward or rightward direction key.
If HotKey has been defined for Gather Multi-group Conf., you can use HotKey to have a
consultation. Please see H600/700/900 Series HD Terminal Administrator s Guide for
details.

Note

Join Discussion Interface displays information of all the instant conferences and templates,
they are meeting name, conference state and so on.

2.3.4 HotKey Calling

The two forms of HotKey are Call Shortcut Setting and Function Shortcut Setting.

Call Shortcut Setting: Press HotKey to call the addresses;

Function Shortcut Setting: Define HotKey Enter Multi-group Conf. or Gather


Multi-group Conf..

Guide.

2.3.5 Directory

In Consultation, Directory displays all the on-line and off-line address.


On-line address: After the Terminal is registered to Access Process Server successfully, If
other terminal also registers the same Access Process Server, and the y Code are identical
(or neighboring), all other terminals information will display highlighted;
Off-line address: If terminals do not match On-line addresss requirements, their
information will display gray.

2.3.6 Call Record Calling

Details are in Chapter 2.1.5.

2.4 Extension Number Calling

By configuring Datang Gateway T4 and KEDACOM DSL-4010H, we can achieve the


communication between H600/700/900 HD terminal and telephone system.

Before having a extension number calling, please disable H.239 in Syste m Setup

Normal Setup Call Setup page.

Procedures of extension number calling:

1. In Main Menu Interface, enter IP address # number in Calling Information Region;

IP address: Datang Gateways IP address;

Number: It is the telephones number.

2. In Call Rate drop-down list, select or enter rate on the basis of terminals capacity and
network bandwidth;

3. Press .

2.5 Answer and Leave Conference

2.5.1 Answer a Conference

Terminal has three types of answer mode:

Auto Answer: When term inal is in idle mode, it will automatically accept any remote
terminals call (by default);

Manual Answer: When terminal receives a call, a pop-up alert with callers information will

appear on screen. You can choose OK to accept the call, Cancel to reject the call;

Do Not Disturb: All calls will be rejected.

answering mode, please see Chapter 5.3.2 of H600/700/900 Series HD Terminal

2.5.2 Leave a Conference

Point-to-Point Conference

Press button to leave a conference.

Multipoint Conference(No Dual Stream)

Press button to leave a conference.

Multipoint Conference(Dual Stream)

Press button and a pop-up menu will appear, use the directional key to stop the Dual

Stream or Conf by pressing button to leave a conference.

Note

If you select Dual in the pop-up menu, press button to stop Dual Stream but the
terminal will still remain in the conference session.

2.5.3 End a Conference

In Point-to-point Conference, either of both terminals can end the conference. In Multipoint

Point-to-point Conference

Press button to end the conference.

Multipoint Conference

During a multipoint conference, the Chairman will be able to end a conference session by
using steps as follows:

1. In Video Interface, press button, a pop-up window will appear;

2. Use the directional key to select Terminate Conference;

3. Press button again to end.

Only Chairman can terminate a multipoint conference by pressing a single button.

2.6 MTC-BOX

The chapter is for users who have purchase KEDACOM MTC-BOX.

You can have a Point-to-point Conference or Multipoint Conference by calling terminal or


Multipoint Control Unit with Speed Dial Button of MTC-BOX.

Information as provided below:

During a multipoint conference, if the terminal did not apply to become a spokesman, the
Spokesman Light and Speech Application Light will be turned off.

Procedures of applying to become a Speaker:

1. Press Speech Application Button for 2 seconds. Speech Application Light will turn
green and flickers every one second;

2. After Speech Application Light had been turned off (Speaker Light is steady green),
user can now have speech access in the conference.

Cancel speech

Press Speech Application Button again for 2 seconds to cancel the speech.

3 Operate a Multipoint Conference

When MCU is used to host a multipoint conference, terminal can be set as Chairman or
Audience. As different assignment, the operation rights of terminals will also be different.

Chairman Terminal rights: Assign the spokesman, end/conclude a conference, assign


another participant to be chairman, and release own chairman rights, polling, manually
select the Continuous Presence (CP for short below) layout, invite, delete or reject terminal
and many more.
Audience Terminal rights: Apply to become Spokesman or Chairman, look up for
participants information and many more.

3.1 Operation for Chairman Rights

In Video Interface, press button, and a pop-up menu will appear, Chairman can select

options with direction key, and enforce it by press button.

3.1.2 View an Audiences Video

Chairman can look up and view a specific terminals video, have polling towards other
terminals, view CP layout and many more.

3.1.2.1 View a specific terminals video

1. In Video Interface, press menu, a pop-up menu will appear;

2. Select View Site;

3. Select the terminal you want to view;


4. Select mode as Video or Audio-Video;

5. Press OK.

Select Stop View to stop viewing.

Note

In Video Interface, press button and select Participants Info in pop-up menu will

also allow you to view terminals.

3.1.2.2 Polling

In Video Interface, press menu, choose Start Polling in pop-up menu, you can have
polling immediately by selecting a saved scheme of polling.

If there is no polling scheme that you need, you can select Instant Poll, procedures are
following:

1. In Video Interface, press menu;

2. Choose Start Polling;

3. Set Polling Method. Select Instant Poll, it means that polling will begin immediately
after completion of settings;
4. Polling Interval. Select Polling Interval is the time frame that you want to set for each
terminal to appear. Units of time frame are in Seconds;
5. Set Polling Mode. Select Audio & Video or Video;

6. Select the desired terminals for polling in the MT list, press button to confirm;

7. Press Start.

If Sche me Poll is selected in Polling Method, you can save a particular scheme for use in
the future. Procedures are provided below:

1. In Video Interface, press button;

2. Select Start Polling in pop-up menu, and assign Polling Method as Scheme Poll:

3. Finish Polling Interval. Select Polling Interval is the tim e fram e that you want to set for
each terminal to appear. Units of time frame are in seconds;

4. Set Polling Mode. Select Audio & Video or Video;


5. Set Sche me Index. Select name as Poll Sche me One, Poll Sche me Two or Poll
Scheme Three;

6. Set Scheme Name. Input the name of the polling scheme;

7. Select desired terminals for polling in the MT list, press button to confirm;

8. Press Save.

3.1.2.3 View CP Layout

1. In Video Interface, press button;

2. Select Conference Control in the pop-up menu;

3. Enable Continuous Presence.

3.1.4 Conference Control

In Video Interface, press button, select Conference Control, you can enable Voice
Activation, Discussion Mode, Broadcast Mode and Continuous Presence. Provided
as below:

Function Description

Dynamic switching of conference spokesman. In the conference,


the audience who speaks the loudest consecutively in a certain
time frame based on Voice Activation Sensitivity will become
Voice Activation Spokesman automatically.

Note: Voice Activation Sensitivity is set and controlled by


administrator, defaulted time is 5 sec. Please refer to kdv-mcs
Meeting Console Station User Manual for details.

Every audience in the conference can make a statement in


Discussion Mode in which audio mixing mode enabled.
Discussion Mode
Note: The maximum of audio mixing terminals will be determined by
the capacity of MCU.

When there is a spokesman or continuous presence layout in the


conference, all terminals will receive the same broadcast stream,
Broadcast Mode expect for Chairman terminal.

Note: Chairman can look up at a specific terminals video, view


dynamic or manual CP layout.

All terminals will be automatically presented on continuous

3.1.5 Invite, Hang Up or Delete Terminal

Invite Participant

Call other terminal or MCU to join a conference. Procedures are provided below:

1. In Video Interface, press button, a pop-up list will appear;

2. Select Invite Terminal and a pop-up menu showing all listing in the directory will
appear;

3. Select the address name and press button to call.

Hang up or Delete terminal

Hang up a specific terminal to leave the conference, Procedures are provided below:

1. In Video Interface, press button, a pop-up list will appear;

2. Select Disconnected Terminal;

3. In the pop-up menu, a list of term inals in the conference session will appear. Select the
specific terminal to disconnect;

4. Select OK.

Note

The above action can also be done by using Participants Info menu.

3.1.6 End a Conference

From the pop up menu, select End Meeting to end/leave a conference.

5 Multipoint Consultation

In multipoint Consultation, terminal can act as Manager or Participants. Manager and


Participants will have different rights.

Manager: Release Rights, Manage Participants, Leave Conference, Add Participant,


Conference Setting, Terminate Conference;

Participants: Apply to become Manager, View Participants, Quit the Conference.

5.1 Operation for Manager Rights

5.1.1 Add Participant

In Consultation, Manager can invite other terminals to take part in the conference,
procedures are provided as below:

1. In video interface, press button, a shortcut menu will appear;

2. Select Add Participant;

3. In Input No. region, input the E.164 number;

4. Press button to call the terminal.

If the terminals information is already in Address Book, select the terminal and press
button to Call.

Manager can record the conference video. Procedures are provided as below:

1. In video interface, press button, a pop-up menu will appear;

2. Select Start Video Record.

5.1.4 Conference Setting

Manager can configure Name, Duration and Consultation Password, procedures as


follows:

1. In video interface, press button, a pop-up menu will appear;

2. Select Conference Setting, press button to configure the information;

5.1.5 Release Rights

Manager can press button in video interface, and then select Release Rights in
pop-up menu, so the terminal will no longer be the Manager.

5.1.6 Prolong, Quit or Terminate Conference

Prolong Conference

If the consultation will end in 15 mins, it will display The meeting will end after 15 minutes!
Do you want to extend the meeting time? . As a Manager, you can prolong the conference,
procedures are provided as below:

1. In the prompt pop up box, select OK;


2. Select 30 mins, 60 mins or 90 mins and Select OK.

After the time had been prolong the conference time will be extended again, 15 mins
before the prolonged consultation ends, repeat step 1 and 2 to continue prolong it again if
required.

Leave, Terminate Conference

1. In video interface, press button, pop-up menu will appear;

2. Select Leave (or Terminate) Conference with direction key;

3. Click OK to leave conference.

6 Video Control

6.1 Camera Control

The camera is capable of PTZ (Pan, Tilt and Zoom) control and auto focusing.

6.1.1 Select Local/Far End Video Source

To switch between local terminals camera and far end camera operation as follows:

During the conference, when you see a remote terminals stream, press button to

toggle between local camera and remote far end camera.

When camera control is switched to remote far end camera, the icon will appear;

During local terminals camera control, the icon will then disappear.

6.1.2 Control Local Terminals Camera

The remote control can control local camera whenever terminals are free or at conference.

Local camera means H600s integrated camera, H700 /900s external camera.

6.1.2.1 Move Camera

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Camera >Move ;

If the terminal is in conference, you will need to select Local .

2. Camera can be controlled through the remote control as follows:

6.1.2.2 Parameter Adjustment

For H600 high definition terminal, to get better image effect, user can configure White
Balance, NF Level, Acuity Level, ISO and Exposure Mode.

In Main Menu Interface, select Camera >Parameters , user can configure

these options:.

White Balance, NF Level, Acuity Level and ISO

White Balance: To get better color display under fluorescent lamp, tungsten lamp,
natural light, user need to set White Balance in different scene, default is Auto.

H600-B/C: You can select Auto, Incandescence, Fluorescence, Daylight,


Cloudy or Cloudy Day;

H600-LB/LC: You can select Auto, Indoor, Outdoor, Sodium Lamp.

NF Level: It is used to reduce the image noise. You can configure it as High,
Middle, Low or Off. Default is Off.

Acuity Level: Image Sharpness: The Image Sharpness higher, images details
contrasts will be more sharper, and we will have clearer image. But what we must
notice is if the value of Image Sharpness is high excessively, it will result image

distortion. So please adjust it properly. The grade can be High, Middle or Low.
Default is Middle.

ISO: The function of Scene Mode is dedicated to H600-B/C model. If the cameras
are in weaker environment, such as indoor or early in the morning or evening light,
in order to keep the image brightness, user can raise the ISO value appropriately.
The less value, the greater the light needed for the camera. Optional value are
Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1250. Default is Auto.

Exposure Mode

Exposure Mode can be set to Auto, Manual, Aperture First or Shutter First. To
guarantee enough light to get clear images, correct aperture priority and shutter priority
combination is needed.

Auto: Camera adjusts the image effect according to the light automatically, and at
this point, Aperture Size and Shutter Speed doesnt support edit.

Manual: It means you will Choose to set the value of Aperture Size and Shutter
Speed manually, set Aperture Size as F1.8, light which go through cameras
aperture per unit time is the maximum; set Aperture Size as F11, light which go
through cameras aperture per unit time is the minimum. The smaller Shutter
Speeds value is, the shorter the time which light go through cameras aperture is;

Aperture First: If set Exposure Mode as Aperture First, you only need to set the
value of Aperture Size manually, camera will adjust Shutter Speeds value
automatically by Aperture Sizes value.

Shutter First: If set Exposure Mode as Shutter First, you only need to set the
value of Shutter Speed manually, camera will adjust Aperture Sizes value
automatically by Shutter Speeds value.

Note

After complete the configuration, press button to back.

For H700/900 high definition terminal, you can adjust the external cameras Brightness,
Saturation and Contrast.

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Camera >Parameters ;

2. Click Brightness , use left-right directional key to adjust the brightness, click

button to return;

3. Click Saturation and adjust the data, click button to return;

4. Click Contrast and adjust the data.

Click Default and set Brightness, Saturation, Contrast as default.

Note

When the participants backlight is too bright or dark, adjusting backlight compensation will
allow better viewing of remote site. Backlight compensation only applies to the local
terminals camera.

6.1.3 Control Far-end Terminals Camera

In a Conference session, Chairman can regulate cameras video parameter of existing


Spokesman or polling terminal. Procedures are provided as below:

1. Select Camera Remote Move ;

2. Adjust the video sources angle, brightness and so on. Please refer to section 6.1.2 for
details.

In a Consultation session, Chairman can regulate other participants video parameter.


Procedures are provided as below:

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Camera Remote , enter into Re mote

Camera Control interface;

2. Select the terminal you want to control, press button, a drop-down box will
appear;

3. Select Move Camera, enter into the video adjustment interface;

4. Adjust the video sources angle, brightness and so on. Please refer to section 6.1.2 for
details.

The above action can play a part on the basis that terminal is set to enable controlled

terminals Remote Control in System Setup Normal Setup Display.

6.2 Camera Store, Load

H600/700/900 HD Terminal supports store, load local cameras preset position. In


Conference or Consultation session, Chairman can store, load far-end cameras preset
position .There are 6 camera presets that can be saved and load for future conference
usage.

6.2.1 Store Cameras Preset Position

1. In Video Interface, assign the camera as the position that you want to save and press

button. A set of number icons will appear;

2. Enter a numeric key from 1 to 6 from the remote control for camera preset position and
the preset position will be stored as per the number assigned.

Store Far-end Cameras Preset Position

Point-to-Point conference: In Point-to-Point conference, the terminal can save far-end


cameras preset position;

Multipoint conference: In multipoint conference, the Chair can save Speaker terminal,
Viewed terminal or audience in polling of a conference sessions preset position.

The procedures are provided as below:

1. In video interface, press the remote controls button, turn to far-end camera;

Now icon appears.

2. Press button, appears;

3. Entry 1(2-6), the preset position information will be saved as position1 (2-6).

6.2.2 Load Cameras Preset Position

2. Enter 1 to 6 key from the remote control to load the preset position.

Multipoint conference: In multipoint conference, the Chair can load Speaker terminal,
Viewed terminal or audience in polling of a conference sessions preset position.

The procedures is provided as below:

1. In video interface, press the remote controls button, turn to far-end camera;

Now icon appears.

2. Press button, appears;

3. Entry 1(2-6), the camera turns to position1 (2-6).

6.3 Select the Video Source

When terminal is a speaker or an audience in polling of a conference session, the local


terminals video source will be set for broadcasting view to all other remote sites.

H600 HD Terminals built-in video source will be set for broadcasting view to all other
remote sites.

Procedures of selected H700/900 HD Terminals video source are provided as below:

1. In Video Interface, press button;

2. Select the input port with directory key;

3. Press button to confirm.

7 Consultation Wait and Answer

In consultation conference, H600/700/900 series HD terminal support 3 consultation wait


and answer modes: Ignore, Wait and answer, Hang up and answer.

The consultation wait and answer modes support two scene:

Point-to-point Conference

Precondition: A is having a point-to-point conference with B, and A is successfully


registered to the Kedacoms Access Process Server;

Multipoint Consultation

Precondition: A is successfully registered to the Kedacoms Access Process Server. A has


participated in a multipoint consultation

The procedure of the two scene is same. As an example of point-to-point conference:

C calls A, in As video interface, a dialog box appears:

Ignore: Reject Cs request;

Wait and answer: Have a meeting with C. When the conference ends, A can recall
B(or the multipoint conference);

Hang up and answer: Exit the point-to-point conference(or the multipoint conference),
and have a meeting with C.

8 Audio Control

8.1 Mute

Stop local terminals audio output from the conference.

Mute: Press button, the local terminal will not be able to hear audio/sound from the

conference. An icon will appear.

UnMute: Press button again to cancel.

8.2 Dumb

Dumb the microphone to stop sending audio to the conference.

Dumb: Press button and all other participants will not be able to hear your audio from

the conference. An icon will appear.

Undumb: Press button again to cancel.

Chairman terminal can mute and dumb any remote terminal, please refer to section 3.1.3.

8.3 Volume Adjustment

Press button and button to adjust the volume.

9 Using Address Book

Address Book is used mainly to save IP address, E.164 number and H.323 ID from either
terminal or MCU for faster dialing purpose.

9.1 Quick Search

The Address List in Address Book is sorted out in ascending form of numeric and
alphabetic order. All the address lists and conference templates are group together for
quick search purpose.

9.2 Create Address in Address Book

1. In Main Menu Interface, go to Address Book to enter into the directory menu;

Or press the remote controls button to enter into the directory menu.

2. Use the directional key to select Create Address and press button to confirm;

3. Enter the following information;

11 Using Call Records

Call Records contains All Records, Call-out Records, Call-in Records and Missed Calls
information, including their Entry name, IP Address, H.323 ID and E.164 Number.

Save Call Records

To save call records into Address Book as follows:

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Call Records and enter into Call Records menu;

2. Use the directional key and select Call Record List;

3. Select the desired entry from the call list;

4. Press button and select Save from the pop-up menu, a Create Address menu
will appear;

5. Key in information as required, select Save then press button to complete.

Delete Call Records

To delete call records as follows:

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Call Records and enter into Call Records menu;

2. Use the directional key to select Call Record List;

3. Select the desired entry from the call list;

4. Press button and select Delete from the pop-up menu.

12 Dual Stream

H600/700/900 HD Terminal supports send and receive of a 2nd video stream during
conference.

Two ways of sending 2nd video streaming can be configured via Meeting Console Station
(MCS for short) software, that comes with Kedacoms MCU for more information please
refer to KDV Meeting Console System Help.

Any terminal will be able to send 2nd video stream - All terminals are allowed to send
2nd video stream;

Speaker mode sending of 2nd video stream - Only the conference speaker is able to
send 2nd video stream.

12.1 Sending of 2nd Video Stream

Two ways to send 2nd video stream during a conference session:

Choose a hardware video input from the terminal for sending the 2nd video stream
transmission;

Sending PC desktop information through MTC software;

Sending PC desktop information through PCDV software.

12.1.1 Sending of 2nd Video Stream through Terminal

1. Press the button and a pop-up menu will appear. Check the physical

connection of 2nd stream interface to make sure it is correct;

2. Press button to open the operation interface;

3. Select Dual and press button.

12.1.2 Sending of 2nd Video Stream through MTC Software

Through any PC which is network connected and with MTC software installed, a 2nd video
stream can be send through the network.

12.1.3 Send Dual Stream with PCDV

In Keda video conference system, you can login H600/700/900 HD terminal with PCDV,
and then send PC desktop information to far-end terminal.

Scene:

Point-to-point conference: Terminal A, have a point-to-point conference with B, users


login terminal A with PCDV, and send PC desktop information to B;

Inner MC conference, multipoint conference: Terminal C is in a inner MC conference or


a multipoint conference, users login terminal C with PCDV, and send PC desktop
information to other participants.

Procedures:

1. On the desktop, double-click icon, a pop-up box appears;

2. After it completes, input terminals MT Address(IP address), Username and


Password, click OK;

3. At the bottom right corner of desktop, click Open icon , begin sending dual

stream.

You can click Stop icon , stop sending dual stream.

Click icon, minimize Open icon to taskbars right side; click icon, close out of the

software.

Note

The username and password which you used to login PCDV is the same as the Meeting
Terminal Console.

12.2 Accepting 2nd Video Stream

After accepting the 2nd video stream, the local terminal will be able to view and share the
contents from the remote site.

Setup for 2nd video stream output interface:

1. In the main menu interface, go to Syste m Setup Advanced Setup


Video SetupVideo I / O Setup and select Next;

2. Select the display mode and make sure that your video matrix setup is suitable for 2nd
video stream output.

12.3 End 2nd Video Stream

1. In Video Interface, press button, a pop-up menu will appear;

13 Sending Short Messages

Terminal is also able to send a short message to individual terminal or to all participants
during the conference.

Rolling Type Setting

1. In main menu interface, go to System Setup Normal Setup Display;

2. In Size Set drop-down list, set the messages size as Big, Normal or Small;

3. In Color Set drop-down list, set the m essages color as Red, Orange, Yellow, Green,
Blue or Purple.

Send short messages

1. In conference, turn to the Main Menu Interface, select Tools >Message ;

2. In the message box, key in your message (to change the character input method press

button);

3. Select Send to send the short message over to other terminals.

Short messages can also be sent via the MTC software. Please refer to H600/700/900
Meeting Terminal Console Online Help for details.

H600/700/900 HD Terminal supports capture image.

Capture Image

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Snapshot and enter into the Snapshot Vie w

menu;

2. Select Capture.

You can press button to capture image in video interface.

View, Delete Snapshot Images

1. In Main Menu Interface, select Snapshot and enter into the Snapshot Vie w

menu;

2. Select the image from the list;

3. Press button and select Capture.

Select Delete, to remove snapshot images. Select Clear All and press button to
delete all images.

Note

If you perform the Snapshot FTP which is in the Syste m Setup Advanced Setup

Network Setup interface, you can only use the remote controls button to

have a snapshot. And the picture will be uploaded onto the FTP server.

16 Online Media Streaming

Terminal can be set with stream media function and participants can access view of the
conference streaming through web browser.

Precondition

1. Ensure that the terminal is Media Stream enabled;


2. Participants must obtain terminals IP address and Media Stream Password (If
password feature is enabled).

PC requirement for receiving and viewing media stream

1. CPU: Intel Core Duo (Dual) CPU, 2.8G HZ, 2G RAM;

2. Operating System: Windows XP/7;


3. Browser: IE 6.0 or above.

To view media stream steps as follows:

1. Open an Internet web browser (IE 6.0);

2. In the address bar, key in terminals IP address;

3. Click on the stream media name on the left side to view;


If password is enabled, enter password and click Confirm.

Note

Terminals address is 172.16.60.18, the web browsing address should be


http://172.16.60.18/player.htm.

Broadcasting Stream Operational steps as follows:

1. In the stream media interface, right click mouse to access pop-up menu;

17 Conference Recording, Broadcasting and VOD

KDV2000/2000E Live Conference Recorder will fulfill the requirements of conference


recording, live-broadcast a conference and VOD function.

The conference that is recorded can also be viewed online and by using terminal.

Play video files steps as follows:

There are two ways to record a conference:

KDV2000/2000E Live Conference Recorder must be registered to MCU as a


participant of the conference. Once conference is initiated, the recorder will automatically
record the conference session, 8 HD resolution concurrent conference can be recorded at
the same time;

Any terminal registered to GK can call recorders IP address or its E.164 for recording.

There are three ways to view a recorded conference via VOD:

KDV2000/2000E Live Conference Recorder participate in a concurrent conference,


any terminal joining the conference can receive playback sessions;

A PC with avxfilter plug-in installed on a web browser. Log in to the recorders IP


address with the authentication and authorization, you can playback and dow nload any
prerecorded streams.

An avx to Mpeg4 converter is also available for conversion of recorded video for
viewing without plug-in installed.

Broadcast can be viewed via a PC with avxfilter plug-in installed on a web browser.

Log in to recorders IP address with the authentication and authorization, you can receive
online stream of the conference from the MCU.

18 Ways to Enhance Your Videoconference Quality

Increase the conference stability and quality

The best room temperature for terminals operation will be at 18 to 22, humidity
6080;

Environment background noise should be kept at less than 40dB for the best effect of
voice activation function performances.

Improve the video image quality

Close all conference rooms windows and curtains if required to prevent over brightness
from outdoor sunlight.

Improve Audio Effects

Please place the microphone within its best reception range;

Do not place paper or objects on top of the microphone;

Do not place the microphone close to strong interference device such as projector;

Please Mute the conference before you move the microphone position;

Please do not speak at a very close distance to the microphone.
