Essay: Week 13 Position Paper

Write a short position paper that will explain the significant role of any of the
following social thinkers to the development of the Filipino society. Do you agree
with their views and perspectives? Explain your answer.

Jose Rizal: I was very overwhelm by what Jose Rizal did to our country. He
is not only a Hero but a Savior. If not because of him, we might still be a slave of
the colonizers and the Spaniards. As an individual, I agree with his views and
perspective. He fights for our country without using violence instead he uses his
knowledge to prove and awakes the spirits of us, Filipino. Using his works, he
proved that we can fight without using violence but using our knowledge. He
became a big hero to our hearts. I agree with him that he wants freedom but still
the laws stands. He fight for our freedom using his pen. He fight the Spaniards
using his intelligence and not by his vengeance. He shows that Filipinos is worth
fighting for. in the end, he died by all means that his life is a big sacrifice for us.
He may have died but he still remains in our hearts. Even in those people who
didnt witnessed his sacrifices, he is still a hero to us. The only thing thats
important is, we learn a lot of things from him, and that being a hero means dying
for what you believed is true.

Apolinario Mabini: He is a hero that is not easily to be forgotten by many

Filipino because at the very last part of his breath, he dedicated his life to the
Filipinos. He sacrifices his life for the Filipinos. He never look at for just himself
instead his looking forward for the brighter future for the Filipinos and for the
next generation. He maybe thinks twice before supporting the reform for freedom
but still he fights for us. He became one of the heroes. And he will forever
lingered in our minds as one of the hero as well as our savior.
