Students names.

Personal focus:
In this lesson I am working with the high-level group again, I will focus with the students behavior
management and I will try my best to control them while I am doing the guide reading. Also, I will pay
attention for their pronunciation and how fast they can read. And at the end I will determine their
communication skills through asking them questions that connect to their real life (make a connection
between the story and their life) so this can lead them to understand the story easily.

Engage:
Transition: - Get the students to set in the carpet at the beginning of the lesson.
I will ask the students to set in the carpet as usual and I will say Good morning everyone, today we will
take a guide reading lesson. I will take a group of you to do the guide reading with them while the other
have to choose a story book from the reading corner and read it silently. The students who will hear his\her
name have to stay in the carpet (Ali, Saif, Meera, Maitha, Moza). The students who finish reading the story
earlier than other have to choose a partner and each one should talk about the story that he\she read.

Core & Close:

Before Reading:
I will ask the students to make a circle and I will set near to them. I will give each one a copy of the story.
By calling their names I will ask them What can you see in the cover page? Who wrote this book? What is
the tittle of the book? Who is the illustrator? What do you think the story will be about? After that I will let
each one of them read one page or two pages from the story. I will say you have to point to the words
while your friend is reading.
While Reading:
I will choose the students randomly to read the story and I will ask him\her what can you see in the
picture? I will give also a chance to others to answer and talk about their thoughts of the story. However,
while each one is reading and answering my questions I will write comments in the observation paper to
determine and evaluate their understanding of the story, literacy skills and communication skills. I will
keep asking them about what happen at the beginning and how the events evolved in the story to check if
the remind the events sequences.
After Reading:
For the close and check their understanding of the story, I will ask them several questions:
- Was there anything you liked about this book?
- Did this story has a happy\sad ending?
- Can you imagine another ending for the story?
After we finish reading the story, I will ask them to set in their tables quality. I will walk around the
partner and check how well they can talk about their stories and who far their partner can understand
what they say.
Observation paper:
Was there anything you liked about this book?
Did this story has a happy\sad ending?
Can you imagine another ending for the story?
