Multimedia Stole Requirements

Multimedia Academy members who would like to earn the honor of wearing the Multimedia Stole at graduation
need to complete the following requirements. Students awarded the Multimedia Stole must complete the Digital
Portfolio outlined below with all of the requirements accounted for within the portfolio. The student must account
for the following in his/her portfolio. This Digital Portfolio is to be organized, creative, and professional and receive
an A or Exemplary Grade.

Digital Portfolio Requirements:


1. Letter of Introduction: Home Page or About Page
a. This is a letter in narrative format that introduces the student to the world.
b. Describe yourself, your career goal, and other relevant information.
c. Include the aspects of life that excite you for your future.
2. Resume:
a. This is a one page professional resume to include educational and work experience,
honors, awards and other activities.
3. Work-Based Learning Project(s): Multimedia Senior Capstone Projects should plan and carry out
a multimedia application that must connect to our program. This project or these projects must
be 30+ hours of learning and mentoring
a. Senior Presentations
b. Job Experience
c. Extensive Project in a Non-MMA Class or College Class
d. Client Work
1. This page should clearly and completely describe the project (why, what, where,
when and how) and include visual evidence.
2. How Multimedia helped you complete this project and how you grew as a
person
3. If this project is done with other students, that fact must be clearly explained,
and the member must clearly describe his/her personal role with the project.
4. Writing Sample(s): The ability to write effectively will be important to you in college and in a
career
a. Digital Portfolio must include writing samples (papers, essays, projects, etc)
b. Digital Portfolios must be well-written throughout
5. Oral Presentation(s) of 6-10 minutes:
a. Include the outline or script of the speech or presentation.
b. Include a short description of who, where, what, and when the speech took place.
c. The speech or presentation must have been written by the Multimedia member.
d. This can be completed independently or as part of a group
6. Service Learning (community service): Summary of 10+ hours of service learning (community
service) project or activity, spent during the school year in work which directly benefits either (1)
people experiencing poverty, discrimination, abuse, poor health, old age, and/or physical-mental
limitations or (2) the protection of animals or the environment for which an individual does not
receive financial compensation.
a. Must show dates, hours, location--in the Service Hours Log--signed by the supervisor as
verification.
b. Must demonstrate learning outcomes in the summary. Describe what the Multimedia
member did and how the members efforts benefited the community at large.
c. May not be a part of any other activity claimed in this portfolio application.
7. Technology: Printed evidence of the use of technology beyond the basic skill level.
a. Examples might be of something you created, such as a Films, Photoshop, Oscar Work,
Websites, PowerPoint/Prezi/Slides Presentation, Game Design, OR other evidence of
advanced technology skills (certificates for Excel, Word, etc.).
8. Leadership Experience (officer, chairman, etc.)
a. List AND describe your principal leadership activities in the approximate order of their
interest to you. These should include your leadership roles (officer, chairman, group
leader, director, etc.) in the arts, athletics, multimedia, and organized school or
community activities (Oscars or Films).
9. GPA: Transcript demonstrating minimum 3.0 Total GPA WITH a 3.0 minimum GPA senior year
both semesters and no Ds or Fs during senior year.
10. Discipline: No suspensions, no drug or alcohol violations, and no excessive ISS (to be determined
by vote per Multimedia Academy Teacher team). Also, the student must have positive and helpful
attitude toward classmates and all adults.
