The teacher will begin by asking the students what they know about Abraham Lincoln. The teacher will
write everything they say in timeline form on the board. When they are done, the teacher will show the class
her timeline she created using the Timeline tool on the internet. She will then explain to the students that they
are to create their own timeline with their own comments, dates, and images. The students will have a choice
of creating timeline on Timeline, Inspiration, or Glogster. The students will have computer time in the library to
find information and create their product. The product will be submitted to the class blog for parents to see.
The students will be learning about Abraham Lincoln and his accomplishments throughout their research and
creation. An extension to this would be to teach about his importance in the Civil War.
The teacher will be monitoring the students work as she walks around to see their products. She will ask
questions about what they have found in their research throughout the project research days. This project
will take 3-4 days.
