LEGEND OF MOJOPUROWETAN VILLAGE

Once upon a time, there was a village called DUKUH MASPUNTEN placed
near Bengawan Solo river. That village was a Gate between north and south teritory
of Majapahit kingdom. There were villagers believing Hindu religion, they prayed for
god called Dewa.

One day came a Priest named Ki Ageng Mojowulung, with his old sister named
Nyi Ageng Lanjar Kuning to spread Islam Religion. Their coming didnt get a good
respond from The Maspuntens Villagers, some of them opposed the religion which
brought by Ki Mojowulung, they even mocked him. But Ki Mojowulang wasnt
despondent, he kept trying spread Islam.

Ki Mojowulung built a Padepokan as Community center for Learning islam

religion. Every evening he played manaqiban to attract attention from The Villagers of
Maspunten. After The Villagers gathered in Padepokan, Ki Mojowulung started
Introduce islam religion to The Villagers. With each passing days, there were many
villagers interested to learn and believe islam religion. Even the villagers who oposed
Islam before, they also Interested to Islam. Islam Religion grew fast.

In memory of Ki Mojowulung, finally name DUKUH MASPUNTEN changed to

DUKUH MOJOPURO, Ki Mojowulungs body buried in Mojopurowetan Village. Every
1 Muharram the Mojopuros villagers held Ki Mojowulungs Haul, usually called Haul
Mbah Ngabar/Mbah Mojowulung.
