- Coordinator of Dubai Metro Arbitration and Amicable Settlement Team. The


team was assigned overall responsibility for contractual/legal/commercial
assessment of complex dispute raised by the contractor claiming $8b in excess of
the original contract price. The dispute is suggested to be the biggest of its kind in
the history of the construction industry.

Inter alia, my role required briefly:

. Coordination between the commercial/legal/technical/construction/financial


parties of the team and the teams work with the expert witnesses/fact
witnesses/the Engineer/Ruler Courts reps.
. Participation in the negotiations with the consortium of contractors.
. Appointing and managing contracts of the independent claims and forensic
delay analysis consultants.
. Reporting the teams findings to the higher management.

In relation to the above, I was assigned overall responsibility for establishing and
managing an arbitration/amicable settlement center which accommodates
international claims consultants, legal firms and expert witnesses in addition to
provision of facility for holding negotiations with the contractors.

disputes worth ~ US$300m.

- Committee member responsible for preparation and packaging of contract


documents for ~ US$10b light rail project.

- Coordinator of the Prequalification Committee and author of the prequalification


procedures.

- Coordinator of the insurance committee and project manager for establishing


insurance system in the RTA.

- Coordinator of Law No.6 committee which is dedicated for sharing cost of


infrastructure projects with the beneficiary parties in Dubai.
