ALEA 3311: SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

SEMESTER 1 (2017/2018)

PART A: GUIDELINES FOR THE ASSIGNMENT (25%)

The purpose of the presentation and assignment is to demonstrate understanding of social


psychological concepts and theory through application by designing/creating an advertisement
or campaign. Students are required to use social psychology concepts and theories to create
AN EFFECTIVE advertisement or campaign on any products of your interest (example: STOP
BULLYING CAMPAIGN OR BUY xxxxx). They could illustrate how an ad campaign focuses on
a particular type of need or sells an idea or stereotype just as much as the product. They will
have to present it to the class during your designated tutorial class. During presentation, you
need to explain the concepts that you have chosen and how these concepts are applied in
creating an attractive and effective campaign/advertisement. Your score on this assignment
constitutes 25% of your total score.

PART B: GUIDELINES FOR THE PRESENTATION (10%)

Each group will be given 15-20 minutes to present their projects. Multimedia presentations are
encouraged. All members of a group are required to participate in the presentation. There will
be a 5-10 minutes Question & Answer session after the presentation. Students are required to
present their views in a constructive manner.
