music builds tension (0.11) and we start to hear mechanical whirring with wave crashing (0.14). We the audience know that there is a large mass attacking somewhere as we hear the creature crash in a shore (0.29), we know its large as the sounds is slowed down, then we hear the creature roar (0.28). The dramatic bass and low tone make the audience aware that this creature is dangerous and is the antagonist. This is also further implied when we hear a character blaspheme (0.21). We then hear people screaming (0.32) implying the creature is in a populous area. As this happens the violins in the orchestra begin to get louder and elongate the strokes on the strings making for a higher pitched noise that builds tension before we hear more screaming and loud crashing suggesting the creature is making more damage. We hear more metallic crashing and screaming (0.55). The use of the orchestra is too build tension in this climatic scene, the use of the bass to create a sense of impending danger, the violins longer and higher pitched strokes create the tension before the monster strikes. Then the use of Foley sounds to create the monsters roar and movements.
