of the video. This website has free historical simulations, so students will
not have to create an account prior to participating in the activity. The
simulation needs to be completed when started, because there is no way to
save the material they have started.

Students will begin this simulation by reading a short paragraph on the


different types people/lifestyles during the civil war. Then students will

choose if they wish to be a southerner, northerner, or Native American.


Then, they will participate in one of these roles throughout the simulation.
Students will then go through different scenarios and decide on the best
solution for the event. After answering these different scenarios, students
will see if their choice was the best solution. By completing this simulation,
students will understand the difficulties people went through during the
civil war. This will also provide a review for certain topics that were
covered in the video prior to completing this activity.

After completing the civil war simulation, the student will complete the
questions for reflection and email it to their teacher to receive credit for
the assignment.
