INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
The plan should guide the LEAs use of education technology for the next three
years.

List specific start and end dates (7/1/xx to 6/30/xx). Provide a brief overview of
the LEA, its location and demographics and/or share a link to the LEAs
website.

Putnam City School District has been using technology in classrooms since the early
ages of technology rising years. The district always acts innovative and maintains its
classrooms a high-tech. Executives have advocated and put extra effort to bond issues
that help keep Putnam City to sustain a technological needs met, train teachers,
students, and its parents. Putnam City currently run 27 schools, 1 high school/middle
school academy, and 2 full service Pre-k centers. The district serves a wide range of
Oklahoma metro area and the student population is very diverse. The mission of PCS is
to prepare students to be responsible citizens and lifelong learners. Below is some
demographics about Putnam City Schools.

Describe how a variety of stakeholders from within the LEA and the
community-at-large participated in the planning process.

The board selects educators from various background to include input from
different expertise areas. Every member is expected to bring feedback on how
the district`s technology investment can benefit not only their department
specifically but also a district overall.

Summarize the relevant research and describe how it supports the plan's
curricular and professional development goals.

The committee thoroughly meets throughout the 3 years span and evaluate the
planned growth and revise the previously discussed items. Necessary changes
including budget re-allocations and some other necessary adjustments are
made as needed. Committee makes sure all changes reflect and they maintain
the long term goal set at the very beginning of the planning period. Sub-
committees are formed to conduct some research on findings on the other
school districts and their way of technology integration plan. Additionally,
another sub-committee is formed to research to compare PCS`s plan with
some other school districts in the state and in the nation.

The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use

1.Teachers in all of the Putnam City schools have adequate access to
educational technology devices and the curriculum. Each campus leaders
provide the needs assessment report to the district. The district works during
summer to make sure all of the needs are met before the beginning of the next
school year. All classes are equipped with either chrome books or tablets.
2. Teachers actively use technology in planning and delivering the instruction.
District executives schedule PD days throughout the year in which teachers
attend to various trainings on how to use technology more efficiently. Some of
the classes the district offers are Smart-board training, using app programs to
grade student work, google products, how to use social media, and the student
information system.
Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use
of digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.

1. All students have access to school`s technological devices. Each class have
enough number of calculators, clickers, chrome books, and tablets based on
the number of the students enrolled in each class. Students and parents read
and sign a technology equity and the districts policy at the beginning of each
school year. Students need to turn in the checked out items to school at the
end of school year.

2. All devices are regularly maintained by the school`s IT department. Students


also receive a netiquette short class as part of the check-out process. This way
students` home environment that might lack access to technology is avoided.
Students can stay after school times and work on their assignments.

1. Teachers are expected to include the technology integration planning in
annual and weekly lesson plans. Suggested list of best practices are provided
to teachers by their department head. Department heads personnel attend to
summer trainings to make sure they stay abreast of the technological
innovations and how it`s being actively used in education. Department head
personnel meet with their group members during the in-service days. Putnam
City Schools annually host a week long teacher in-service trainings.

2. Department heads always stay in touch with school leaders to make sure
they align their suggested lists of purchase and needs with the school`s
budget. School leaders rarely denies teachers` request for technology
purchase. Rather, they stretch the requests out to long term (district`s 3-year
plan) and ask teachers prioritize the needs.

1. The district installs and regularly monitors the filter system that controls all
the sites visited using school`s internet. All stakeholders sign the internet
safety policy at the beginning of school year and abide by the rules and
expectations.
2. Netiquette is woven as a part of the district`s character development. Each
student is taught about this concept and computer teachers practice this with
students.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT


The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services

1.Teachers continue technology integration training at the district level and
high school levels. District continuously work to expand technology integration
training at the sites. District also aims to provide ongoing professional
development for technical staff and professional development for technology
coaches and instructional technologist
2. District provides teachers with training on how to move their curriculum into
a digital environment and create an AIT refresher course. They also work on to
teach how to create a technology proficiency test for teachers to help provide
targeted professional development for basic technology skills.

2. Curriculum alignment and pacing is the balance work that the certain
committee formed by selective members from various department in the district
level are working towards. In their work, they take technology integrations into
consideration as well as the state benchmarks to ensure that students not only
meet the state standards but also are prepared to 21st century workforce
requirements.

1. Schools of the Putnam City Schools are all ranged with a Wi-Fi access to
teachers, students, and guests. Teachers can register their classroom
technology and their personal phones and computers to school`s Wi-Fi system
and utilize the free Wi-Fi service. Teachers also receive almost an immediate
response to their technical issues. IT department staff in each campus is there
to ensure all the devices are operated properly on time.

2. All of the web-based curricula accessible by teachers and students off-site.


School IT department allows teachers to create and run their own personal
websites. These websites are treated as part of the school`s electronic learning
resources. Department heads and teachers can video conference with some
other stakeholders in the district or at another school.

1. All high-school students are required to do project based learning study as


part of their one or some of their core classes throughout their high school
years. PBL requires students constantly use technology including online
research, compare data, and students compile an e-portfolio at the end of the
study and publish it online.

2. PCS is aware of the technology demand of this learning process and has
long been planning to integrate technology into everyday classrooms. PCS
developed a district wide technology policy that gives an equal access for all
students to technology regardless of their family background.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT


The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in
response to new developments and opportunities as they arise.

1. In the district`s 3-year long planning period, the selected committee


members use the comparison data as a top priority. Surveys, feedback from
teachers, students, and parents are included at the end of each year`s
assessment meetings.

Technical departments including IT staff at schools record all the maintenance


requests filed by both staff and students. At the end of each quarter, each
school`s work orders are classified and compared with other campuses. The
goals here is to find out if certain technological device or a software program is
needed additional attention.
