Aker Client - Installation and Configuration VPN Client

(Secure Roaming)

The Aker Client has two basic features. The first is used to local authentication with Windows Logon
integration, the client is used to authenticate in an Active Directory Domain.

The second feature is the VPN client function. This is used to make remote connection in corporate
environment. Used to make remote connections to the corporate environment anywhere you have
an internet connection. The VPN Client provides the resource utilization of a corporate network to
do many actions like with your computer inside of company, mainly with extreme security.

This tutorial shows the steps and the better configuration to proper operation of Aker VPN client.

Important Note: For proper operation of the VPN configuration, should be allowed the port 1011
TCP and UDP at firewall of computer and Network.

Installation

If your computer doesnt have Aker Client installed, you can download at Aker site -
www.aker.com.br. There are files to 32 bits and 64 bits, for Operating System Windows
XP/Vista/Windows 7.

The files can be downloaded by direct links below.

32bits version:

http://download.aker.com.br/prod/current/akerclient-2.0.5-pt-win32-install-0005.msi

64bits version:

http://download.aker.com.br/prod/current/akerclient-2.0.5-pt-win64-install-0005.msi

After download, file should be executed with double click.

Click the button Avanar.

Choose the option Aceito o contrato de licena to accept the license agreement, and Click the
button Avanar to continue.

Click button Avanar.

By default the option suporte ao secure roaming is enabled. Used to the utilization of VPN client.

The option suporte a autenticao de mltiplos usurios is used to local authentication. It does
not need enabled to utilize VPN client.

Click in button Concluir to conclude the installation.

After, you will see the message to computer reinitialization. Click in button "Sim".

Configuration

After the computer reinitialization, the following screen will appear to remote connection
configuration.

If does not appear, you can search the Aker Client icon at system tray bar, next the system

clock.

* To do this configurations, is necessary be administrator user or the user should be with

administrator rights.

- Click in Novo Servidor to add new configuration.

In Next screen, should be selected the following options:

- Tipo de Servidor: Secure Roaming

- Descrio (Description): Berneck

- Nome/Endereo do servidor (Name/IP SERVER): 189.42.60.2

-Trafego de dados (Data Traffic) : Check a box Por TCP and Comprimido

- Modo de Ativao (Activation Mode): Manual

- Modo de Login (Login Mode): Usurio/Senha

- Usurio (user): (Your user or user provided by support team)

- Senha (password): (Your password or password provided by support team, to save the

configuration password, check the box Salvar senha

- Domnio (domain): Can not be filled

In next screen, has the configuration example:

Activation mode

Login mode: User/Password

To finish configuration, click in OK to save.

After configuration, in main screen will appear the next option.

To initiate the remote connection, should be selected the following option:

Click with Right button and click in option Conectar

or Click in superior button

if you does not save the password configuration , you will see the screen below:

Enter the password and click the OK to initiate the remote connection . To know if the connected
on VPN, check the status of Green ball, should be showing Conectado.

At this moment, you will receive a company network IP address with the rules and access policies
linked to your user connection.

To finish the remote connection press right button and click option Desconectar or Click in

superior button
