9. Assessment (Plan how you will assess whether your students have met the lesson

- Do a small reading task for scanning and skimming skills to check the students
understanding
- Activity 1: Students are asked to do multiple choice exercise to quickly review the previous
lesson.

- Activity 2 Students are given topics about the reading passage. Their responsibility is that
they have to summarize the information from the passage and activate their knowledge about
the festival. Then some of them come in front of the class and talk about the topic.
- Activity 3: Students are asked to join a game to practice the vocabulary. Teacher will devide
the whole class into 2 teams. Teacher will read definition of the words. The two team say out
loud the words. Who says first will get 1 point for his/her team.
The lesson focuses on practising reading techniques, vocabulary and grammar realated to the
reading.
For reading, bottom-up approach is mainly used. The students are engaged in the meaning
activities. They are also provided with necessary vocabulary before reading and
understanding the text. Questioning and stimulate discussion are used during the lesson to
check comprehension.
For grammar, the grammatical concept of the first conditional sentences is introduced in an
inductive way, which means the students will figure out the rule and usage of this grammatical
point themselves. The teachers confirm the correct understanding and let them practice the
new grammar.
Also, for vocabulary, we use visual aids and pictures to demonstrate the meaning.
