Q. 1 In terms of human systems design and Modeling, discuss the three sub-stages of the

second Stage of advanced development?

According Human system design and modeling the Stage Advanced Development have

three sub-stages, namely: the allocation of requirements; trade-off and optimization, and

detailed design specifications.

Allocation of Requirements: The various factors are given to the various sub-systems and

component units.

Trade-off and Optimization: Since many designs may satisfy fixed limits, the HF engineer

must find the optimal configuration by means of various analytical methods.

Detailed Design Specifications: The HF engineer will now be able to define a set of detailed

specifications (e.g. operator or task/process specifications).

Q. 2: The neurons in the CNS are well organized into numerous different circuits; discuss

the three most important ones.

The neurons in CNS are organized in various circuit and some of the most important are:

The diverging circuit, allows a signal from an incoming fiber to stimulate many neurons;

each of these may then stimulate still many more neurons.

The converging circuit, is one in which signals from many sources in the brain must act

simultaneously on the same neuron before it will fire.

The reverberatory circuit, consists of a series of neurons sending signals in a circular

pathway; one neuron stimulates another, then another, and so on until it gets back to the

first.

Q. 3: Regarding Health and Safety Issues, discuss Managing the Red Zone.

The Red Zone is the part of the day in which degraded endurance may have a negative impact and

can also occur around 3 pm, and also can refer to the night time when people are asleep. The most

critical time is 03:00 am to sunrise.

Since Red Zone depends on energy level, it is important to understand how energy is produced,

how it effects endurance, and how it increases or decreases. Production of molecules called

adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP), found in all cells of the body, plays a key role in producing energy.

In order for ATP to be produced in the body a chemical reaction has to occurs and it depends on

various factors such as good diet, adequate hydration, oxygen and, sufficient sleep.

If the body does not produce enough ATP, the CNS and brain cannot function properly and it can

affect people negatively.

So it is important to have a good diet, proper hydration, enough sleep time in order to manage the

Red Zone.
