Argumentative Essay 1

Should the Governments be the only Responsible for Fighting Corruption?

The 11th President of India Abdul Kalam once said If a country is to be corruption free and

become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who

can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher. Even though, society

claim that governments has to be the only responsible for fighting corruption, it should be

indeed the duty of the governments along with their citizens.

Some people claim that fighting corruption should be responsibility only of the government

because they set laws and punishments that it can counter the corruption. They also argue if

governments give employers a good salaries according to the actual economic, they would

fight against corruption. However, corruption affect the political, social, economic stability and

security of society.

First, society have to perceive and report the corruption in the public organisms and then

Publish an annual review of cases reported and processed, and the results of the cases. In the

same way, government have to motive the society to report corruption and investigate if that

report is true or no. If medias make public that government want to eliminate the corruption,

people will reported the corruption.

Second, as salaries are the lowest, employers have to strike corrupt deals in any case

government should be give a good salaries to employers becauses of that lowest salaries start

the corruption. In addition, they have to created ethics, values and education organism to

encourage the society to eliminate the corruption.

In conclusion, in the fighting corruption as government as citizens should work like a team

and each one should contribute from their position: as a teacher or as a taxi driver or as a

president. According to Dalai Lama, a Tibetan spiritual leader, The changes need to happen

within each individual person and within the companies. This is dependent on the efforts we

make in peoples education; this is about a beginning in Kindergarten and not a few weeks

worth of discussions.
