3.1 Introduction
ATTENTION A cloning file must be used only with the CommandSet version applied
during creation of the cloning file. The cloning file must be also used with
the same device type (VHF, UHF). Otherwise, using the cloning file with
another CommandSet version and/or device type can lead to an
unexpected behaviour of the R&S ZS 4200 application and/or the radio.
3.1 6174.7850.02.02
R&S ZS 4200
General Remote or local control sessions will not be interrupted. The maintenance
engineer can adjust parameters and clear the event log of the radio.
Reading The following parameters can only be read:
of parameters
Hardware/software configuration
CBIT status report and event log
Session status; which RC/FM clients are connected to the radio
All basic setup parameters; can be used for "cloning" radios
200 preset parameters
Get maintenance time and date
Setting For example, the following parameters can be set (only via USB interface,
of parameters Remote mode or Interactive access is needed in LAN interface):
Adjust TCXO (and OCXO, if installed)
Adjust audio line levels for a receiver and transmitter
Clear event log of radio modules
General The Interactive access via USB interface does not support any remote
sessions, i.e. all IP LAN connections will be interrupted, by entering this
mode.
The Interactive access via LAN interface has no influence to the USB
session. However, if there is another LAN session using the remote control
session, or the device is already in the Interactive mode via USB interface
or the radio is in the Local mode, the Interactive mode via LAN interface can
not be entered and will be refused by the radio.
Leaving the Interactive mode on both interfaces (USB and LAN) will restart
the radio.
6174.7850.02.02 3.2
R&S ZS 4200
ATTENTION
After exiting the interactive access, the radio is rebooted.
General The Local mode is available only on the USB interface and is needed to
modify the Operational parameters. Entering this mode will change the
Interactive remote control session (via LAN) to the Non-interactive mode.
Other non-interactive remote control sessions will not be interrupted.
Leaving the Local mode will not restart the radio.
For example, the following operational parameters are programmable:
Channel Spacing
Frequency
Modulation Mode
Preset Page Number
Carrier Offset
RF Power Level
General The Remote mode is available only on the LAN interface and is needed to
modify the Adjustment (see chapter 3.3.3.4) and/or Operational parameters.
Entering this mode has no influence to the USB session. However, if there
is another LAN session using the remote control session, or the device is
already in the Interactive mode via USB interface or the radio is in the Local
mode, the Remote mode via LAN interface can not be entered and will be
refused by the radio. Other non-interactive remote sessions will not be
interrupted.
Leaving the Remote mode will not restart the radio.
For example, the following operational parameters are programmable:
Channel Spacing
Frequency
Modulation Mode
Preset Page Number
Carrier Offset
RF Power Level

R&S ZS 4200
General During software download of basic setup parameters from PC into the radio,
the radio does not support any remote control session. All IP LAN
connections will be interrupted.
General During the remote software update it is not allowed to start software update
via USB. This could cause a malfunction of the radio.
Note: In rare cases the radio restart takes up to 5 minutes after the
software update. Make sure the radio is not restarted during that time.
General Note: This feature is available only via USB connection type (interface).
Radio options can be activated or deactivated, if the radio software version
supports this feature. The activation/deactivation keys are provided by the
supplier on purchase order.
For example, the following options can be activated/deactivated:
OCXO
E1 Interface
VoIP
Voice Recorder
7 VoIP Sessions
STD
Scan Mode
Note: After activation or deactivation of each option, the radio will be
restarted automatically.
