Guidelines for Success: Posted Rules:

Help each other How to teach the rules :


-In the beginning of the year, the teacher will explains the rules and will put it
- Be Active beside the white board so everyone can see it. And at the beginning of each
class the teacher will remind them with the rules.

-If there is a student who will break a specific rule, the teacher will ask
It is ok to answer wrong
him/her to say the rule, in addition to the rule violation consequences.

Attention Signal:

- Audible: "Eyes on me"

- Visual: I can use my hand to point to the students' eyes or to my face.

- Portable: I can do it and say it as I am walking around the classroom.

Expectations for Classroom Activities, Routines and Transitions:

: The Expectations for activities


- In the beginning of the year, the teacher will guide students and specify her targets by giving clear clarification orally with showing
pictures.
- In groups:
For Conversation: students will talk or discuss the activity under the teacher guidance. For instance, the student will raise their
hands quietly and they will say "Ms! Can I discuss with my classmates this point?".

Help: Students firstly will ask their pairs. If it does not work, they should ask the teacher by raising the sad face which means
that student needs help.

Activities: The teacher will give the students the instructions of the activity and the materials. She will put a timer or she will
tell them when they have to finish, so they can work on time.

Movement: Students should set on their desks or stand around their group area only.

Participation: Student must raise their hands to participate more than once and give a clear answer with high voice. The
teacher will give each student in group the chance to answer.

- Individually:

For Conversation: The students will just ask the teacher, and they will raise their names tags if they want to talk with the
teacher.

Help: If students have a questions or having misconception, they have to raise their hands and ask the teacher for help.

Activities: Students have to sit in lines. The first student in the line will take the worksheets and will distribute it for the
students who are sitting behind him/her

Movement: it is allowed only for the students who I choose to distribute the task.

Participation: Everyone can participate by raising the hand more than once

Routines and Transitions :


Routines :
- Bags next to the wall
- Students teacher game
- Group work
- Independent Work
- Reading time (usually in the carpet)
- Clean and tide desks.

Transitions :

- Individual work to cleaning desks time
- Group work activity to individual work activity

Encouragement Procedures (Motivation):

- Put students' works in the back so it motivates them and makes them feel proud of their achievements.

- Put the students' pictures with their names on the door if they did a good behavior.

- Put the names of higher achievers students in a corner in the class called "great job corner".
Correction Procedures for Misbehavior (both early-stage misbehaviors and rule violation consequences):

Early-stage misbehaviors consequences (progressive) :

- Pre-correction
- Verbal warning
- Talk individually with the student
- Time out
- Family contact

Rule violation consequences (progressive):


- Verbal warning

- Red chair

Beginning and Ending Routines:

1. Routine for how students will enter the room:

- Student should take his/her English file and come to the English classroom. They have to make a line in front of the door and wait for the teacher
till come to open the door. They will line up and organized themselves, until the teacher arrives to the classroom.

2. Routine for dealing with tardy students:

If there is a good persuaded reason, she cannot punish him. But if there is no good reason, she will follow the early stage consequences: Pre-
correction, verbal warning, talk individually with the student, time out and lastly she moves to family contact

3. Routine for dealing with students who come to class without necessary materials:

- The teacher will put their materials in the storage, to do not forget his/her materials in the home.

4. Routine for dealing with students returning after an absence:

- The teacher will ask the parents about the cause of student's absence.

- Appointment or meeting, the teacher sitting with students in free time and give him the important points in the lesson and worksheets.

- In the end, the teacher will ask the student if he/she didn't understand something or if he/she wants to ask any questions, he can ask.

5. Routine for wrapping up at end of day/class:

- Ask students to clean their own desks, gather all their stuffs and put their chairs back then they can leave.

Procedures for Managing Student Work:

1. Procedures for assigning classwork and homework:

- The students will do their assignments and homework in the home, then they will stick their worksheets in their notebook. The
teacher will collect the notebooks every Thursday and she will correct it for them, and return it back for them on Monday.

2. Procedures for collecting completed work:

- If students finish the work or the specific activity that needs writing, students will stick the worksheets in the notebook. The teacher
will asks them to come and correct it for them, while the others working in the same activity.

- If it is not a worksheet, the teacher will ask them to put their work in the shelves.

3. Procedures and policies for dealing with late and missing assignments:

- The teacher will warn the student orally, then she will tell students parents through a what's app massage that she have to check and

work with her child to do the missing work because it is for his own benefits.
- If the parents ignore or do not care about the missing work for his child, the student will lose marks and the parents will not be asked

because they will already know.


Procedures for Managing Independent Work Periods:

- As I said in the expectations for activities section, here is the same procedures that we can use it for individual or independent work:

For Conversation: The students will just ask the teacher, and they will raise their names tags if they want to talk with the
teacher.

Help: If students have a questions or having misconception, they have to raise their hands and ask the teacher for help.

Activities: Students will be seating on columns. The first student in the column he\she will take the worksheets for example

and will distribute it for his only column.

Movement: Allowing for students who I choose to distribute the task.

Participation: Everyone can participate and have his own chance to speak about his idea or believes.

Encouragement Procedures (Motivation):

- Put students work in the back which motivates students and let them feel proud of their achievements.

- Put students pictures with their names on the door if they did a good behavior.

- Put the names of higher achievers students in a corner in the class called great job corner.

- Put a paper that includes students names, if a student answered correctly the teacher will put a smile face beside the name, and at the
end of the week the one collected the biggest number of faces will have a reward.
