I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
1. (VC4C) Identify elements and features of print, radio, and TV ads and campaigns;
2. (WC4C) Compose speech and advertisement.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Elements and Features of print, radio, and TV ads and campaigns.

III. PROCEDURE

1. Pre-Lesson Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Checking of the Attendance

2. Lesson Proper
A. Motivation (Picture Analogy)
Present pictures to the students, logos, titles and lines from the advertisements
and campaigns. Have them recognize what advertisements of logos, titles and lines
are being presented.

B. Activity
Prepare a paper ball containing forms of advertisement and campaigns.
Starting from the right side of the row, instruct every student to pass the ball to the
right side of their classmates while singing the Jingle brush, brush, brush from
Colgate Toothpaste commercial. If the song stops, the student who holds the ball will
pick forms in the box and give example of advertisement line or jingle in which others
will have to identify the product out of it.

C. Analysis
Discuss the elements and features of advertisement and campaigns. (Print,
radio and TV)

D. Abstraction
Prepare picture for the print, audio for the radio and video for the TV ads and
campaigns. Instruct the students to get their notebook and pen for the activity. Let
them select one form of advertisement and have them analyse it and instruct them to
write the elements and feature found in the campaign. Ask 3 to 5 students to identify
the ad using their written answers.

E. Application
Writing Advertisement (Group Activity)
Group the students into five groups. In sheet of paper, write a simple
advertisement about the product you want to sell in the school for this Love Month in
one paragraph only.
Have them pick one product to sell or advertise. (Selling: Red Cupcakes, Heart
Candies, Rose, Photo Print and Couple Bracelet).
In every group, have them assign one member to draw the product they want
to sell.
Give them 5-8 minutes to prepare to present their product in the class.

F. Generalization
Ask the following Question:
a. What are the elements and feature of advertisement and campaigns?
b. Give the importance of composing advertisements and campaigns?
c. Is it helpful for you as a student to make an advertisement ? Why or why not?

IV. EVALUATION
Think-Pair-Share
Show them a sample short TV ad, and let them collaborate with partner about
the elements included in the ad. Write their answer in sheet of paper and answer the
question below at the back of the paper.
Select at least 2 elements you have written and justify your answer by citing
evidences in one paragraph.

V. ASSIGNMENT

What is an Affirmation or Agreement and Negation or Disagreement?


Give 5 examples of expressions in each persuasion.
