Child Abuse

Child abuse is something that is constantly happening now a day. It is a very big problem,

that could lead to serious consequences including suicide. Parents as well as teacher should be

more aware of what is going on in a childs life. Bulling in schools has become a serious matter

but can be stopped with the help. No child should be thinking about suicide at an earlier age.

Being more involve in a childs life can benefit them to have a healthy growing relationship.

I. Bulling can be implemented in many different ways whether its teasing, name

calling, or pushing and shoving, or physically hurting someone.

A. Bullying behaviors may be directed at a victim in the form of verbal or physical


attacks, or they may indirectly target a victim through gossiping and exclusion
from the peer group. ( Aluedse, 3)
B. In the United States, American schools harbor approximately 2.1 million bullies
and 2.7 million are their victims ( Aluedse, 4)
II. Kids matter is a corporation that kids who have been neglected or abused.

A. Victims of child abuse may feel that they are bad and deserve the
abuse. (Cowell, homepage)
B. Trauma in children can take years to manifest; therefore, it is important that
victims of child abuse receive counseling as soon as possible after the abuse is
disclosed. ( Cowell, homepage)
C. It takes a lot of courage for a child to come forward about abuse. ( Cowell,
neglect)
III. Many cases have been reported on child abuse while being homeschooled.
A. Most PSCs know their legal responsibility to report cases of abuse and neglect;
however, procedural uncertainty and other concerns may cause great
anxiety.(Gullett, 1)
B. counselors experience uncertainty and apprehension when working with
suspected abuse, warranting a professional resource that outlines appropriate
procedures for managing such cases. ( Gullet, 1)
IV. Cases of child abuse have been reported more then ever.
A. Although the majority of child abuse details occur in children younger than four
years old, 66.2% of the total abuse cases occur in children and adolescents who
attend. ( Hines, 1)
B. majority of these 23.4% involve children 4 to 7 years old. ( Hines, 1)
V. Teachers and parents have to be more involved in a students life.
A. The public school system is the logical place to address the issue of sexual
abuse, because school provides the greatest opportunity to reach the greatest

B. Students frequently will share very personal information with their classroom

VI. The effects of child abuse on a child can be dangerous.
A. cyberbullying is often connected to gossip and rumors and the outcomes of

B. While suicide is a problem associated with intense cyberbullying and bullying
behavior, there are, many more teenagers affected by everyday cyberbullying

VII. School have various of produces for when students have been abuse.
A.Law enforcement and district attorneys are filing criminal actions against district
employees who fail to report "reasonably suspicious" sexual abuse incidents under
these laws. (Stephens, 1)
B. Social media further compound the problem, where communication escalates to
personal comments, then to sexual flirtation and illegal acts. (Stephens,1)

VIII. There are many cases of child abuse and neglect in homeschooling.

Different types of child abuse have different effects on the child. Abuse can affect the
way the child acts. Some children that experience child abuse, run away from home, they
dont show up to school and if they do they are not in the best behavior. Younger children
are usually the target of abuse. Many cases of child abuse go unreported. Having a greater
education on child abuse can help one that might be in need. Teachers should be aware of
signs of child abuse. Physical abuse is the most obvious because marks are shown but can
also be difficult to see if covered. Every type of abuse has their own consequences. For
example, sexual abuse can affect a child physically and emotionally. It is important for all
school personals to know their students and be able to know when there is something
going on.
