Note: The vocabulary homework is due at the beginning of class (see syllabus for
respective due dates). I will check to see that you have completed the fill-in-the-
blank exercises, and your peers and I will review your sentences in class.

Late policy: If you show me your completed work within two school days from
the original due date, you will receive partial credit.

Assessment of homework: Each homework assignment is worth 50 points: 15

points (fill-in-the-blanks); 35 points (sentences). Points will be deducted for
careless errors and failure to proofread. Attend to details, and make time to
proofread your sentences before you print them.

Quizzes:

The vocabulary quizzes will assess your mastery of definitions and usage. Expect
to see a matching section with word bank (50 points) and a separate section in
which you will need to do one or more of the following: determine whether a word
has been used correctly in a sentence, use a word correctly in a sentence, or
identify context clues to help you select the best word to complete a sentence (50
points).
