John the Baptist stood out from the crowd. The way he dressed, his lifestyle, his
fervor, his commitment to proclaiming the coming of Jesus Christ. Families proclaim
their beliefs every day by the way they live and the choices they make. Do our familys
priorities proclaim our belief in Jesus?

News from Parish Council..

Fr. David outlined all the positive faith building opportunities that parishioners participated in
this fall and sees that these can serve as a springboard for more to come: Holy Hour for Bishop
Perez, the Adult Retreat, 55th Anniversary of the Holy Hour Program, Bible Study, 7th Grade Holy
Hour of Thanksgiving, School Canned Food Drive collected over 5700 cans of food, Christmas
Walk, Piano Blessing.
Not all is positive; Mass Attendance was down this year. There is a need to prayerfully consider
reaching out to those who havent attended for a while and invite them to Mass or to an
upcoming event. A large portion of decline was due to the deaths of over 40 parishioners who
regularly attended. Since 2002 almost 900 funerals have been performed.
New speakers have been added to the back of the church and choir loft. The sound system is in
a test out phase, please be patient.
At the end of January the survey planning will begin with a two day work session presented by
Mrs. Leisa Anslinger, Director, Catholic Life and Faith, to focus the churchs vision for the future
and address the needs of the survey taken last year.
2018 Calendars were passed out at all Masses last weekend. If you did not receive one, extras are in the
back of the church. We ask that each family takes only one until everyone is able to get one. Thank you
in advance.
