Students taking time to write and get away from grading.

Creative Writing is being viewed in a negative light. There is talk

about taking the arts out of school and creative writing falls under this cate-

gory. The public-school system will end up taking the arts away from the

children who in reality can benefit the most from this art. Creative writing is

a tool that can be used in the classroom to help students who have to deal

with the problems they face in high school. Whether its stress, mental ill-

ness, or even problems at home. Creative writing can be used as an outlet

that in the long run helps students with day to day lives.

There are other perks to creative writing people who want to make a

career out of creative writing, people like J.K. Rowling. There are also peo-

ple who see creative writing as a specific art form as well like Dianne Don-

nelly who states, better position the discipline to stand alongside composi-

tion studies and literary studies as a separate-but-equal entity, fully prepared

to claim it own identity and scholarship. Dianne Donnelly states how crea-

tive writing is its own identity its own reality that cannot be ignored. Thus,

showing how creative writing is beneficial to everyone if people will just

give this profession a try. There are; however, people who do not agree with

this and instead see creative writing as a waste of time and talent.

Still just one way in how creative writing can help those who are in

need; one way it can help is by building good communicative skills and social

skills. Fatma, Kirmizi, who first started the project that creative writing can

help kids with social and communicative skills. it can be argued that the cre-

ative writing activities were considerably effective in the students' freely and

courageously expressing their views and thoughts. Fatma, Kirmizi In the

case that Kirmizi stated, kids were tested and researched on how they would

interact with each other after doing activities with creative writing. This was

able to help the students express themselves to others instead of cowering

behind the faade they have placed for themselves. Kirmizi report showed

that kids can now share their point of view, another view that has presented

itself on the positive side of creative writing.

This is one of the many reasons why creative writing is needed. It

gives the students who are already going through puberty and dealing with

different hormones and other stress factors in their life. Using creative writing

is like having an outlet for these children to be able to escape from their

stress, maybe even figure out how to handle their stress on top of writing their

unique situations out as well. Teachers who also use this class to help students

find that outlet are able to us creative writing as a teaching tool. Students who

learn how to write and write well are able to use the escapism and are able to

help learn how to write. However, there is always the opposing side of crea-

tive writing.

With creative writing you receive two sides of the art. People who

see it as a great way to help with stress and how it is also a way to help out

when dealing with mental illnesses. Other people look at creative writing as a

waste of time because with creative writing you have a harder time trying to
With Creative Writing kids take the time to jot down their thoughts and feelings

get a job due to the less availability of a job in this area.

As you can see some do tend to see creative writing as non-profitable.

Which is understandable people who can write about a ring and how that ring can

destroy the world is something that could have been seen as a waste of time and

not being useful. Its no wonder the public-school system is wanting to take out

creative writing since it doesnt have any financial value. Mainly because it is

used for entertainment prospective and not something that can be used for useful

purposes.

With high end hard workers, that is not all true, thinking that creative

writing is just a way to waste time and how it is hard to actually get a job in the

field of creative writing. English people are wanted now a days due to the fact

that not a lot of other people know correct grammar styles. These cause job op-

portunities for those who desire to go into English and are wanting to help others

who do not have that much knowledge when it comes to grammar. As for a waste

of time that is not completely true either, creative writing as pointed out can be

something you can do for your own mental health. How by writing freely helps

out with stress, mental illnesses, there is also that point of helping out with the

social aspect, and with writing skills in general. To help your self-confidence and

your ability to speak out your own mind and not having to hide whatever it is that
you are in need of hiding. Creative writing is an art form, that allows you to ex-

press yourself fully, but is a tool that people can use to help themselves. Creative

writing is a way for people to connect to others and a way to help themselves.

People have to try and see if creative writing is a waste of their time,

because it doesnt have to be, it can simply be a hobby just an activity that one

does on their free time.. Because creative writing can be such a great tool in or-

der to help those with a busy schedule and are in need of some fresh air as it is a

way to let those who need to relaxes, relaxes.

If creative writing can be used in this way, in helping children grown up

in a sense that creative writing is beneficial and is needed in the public-school

system. Those who are wanting to take creative writing out of school shows how

they dont fully understand the benefits that it has or just seem to care more

about money and finance then they do about a childs stress level. especially for

those kids in high school that already have plenty on their minds and are needing

some sort of outlet in order to function. Does the school system truly care about

the children their in charge of if their willing to take away their creative senses?
