Introduction
Wolkite city is one of the most populated towns of Ethiopia urban cities.
In order to sustain peace and security of citizens living in urban cities, establishing
police station in such cities is crucial.
The modern police station was established in Ethiopia during drug regime in 1967.
Wolkite city is also one of the beneficial of this modern police station currently
police station has enough man power to manage crimes that act on citizens living
within it.
Crime management is possible in a city even though it is not automated with
current technology like computers.
The ultimate goal of the police satiation can be achieved through the newly
developed automated crime management system the aim of this project is to
developing an automated crime management system, which is easily accessible to
the public.
Statement of the problem

Wolkite city administration police office station applies manual way of crimes
management system and processing of tasks.
Due to this reason, the existing manual processing has the following problems.
It takes much efforts and time to retrieve crime information
Difficulty of updating information timely in each departments of the office
File control mechanism is very tedious, Complicated and not secured.
High material resource wastage (written materials) and much cost are
expanded for handling records.

The same detail of crime information is recorded in multiple places
(documents), this indicates redundancy.

Objective of this project

General objective
Our major objective is to develop an Online Crime Management
System for Wolkite city administration police office.
Specific objectives
To achieve the general objectives of the project, the proposed system
consists of the following specific objectives:
To easily manage unauthorized person.
To Identifying the valid and invalid requirement system.
To minimize a labor force.
To make the newly developed system is flexible, reliable and
efficient.
To enhance peace and security.

Collect data and analyze the system requirements and identity

problems of the existing system.
Design the artifacts of the proposed system for the overall view of
the structure implement the system
Finally testing the system to overcome the system function.
Scope of the project
Online crime management system covers only the crime management
system of Wolkite City administration police office.
The proposed system is only applicable on:
Record newly arrived criminal cases
Generate different report
record decision files
view decision files whether it is decide or not
search different summons forms
Add and view FIR
Add, delete & view missing person & most wanted person.
Add & view prisoner report.
Limitation of the project

This project is limited only to those activities and operations related to

crime management system.
This system is used for only police stations or it does not work for
non governmental organizations.

Interview technique: During interview we get the necessary
information from the employees.
Document analysis: we try to discover all the written documents
about the organization areas relevant to the system.

This system is easily to provide the necessary information for the
users and users use the system without any difficulty.
The work for the project be done with current equipment existing
software technology & available personal.
The system be upgraded if developed.
Behavioral feasibility analysis
The employee of the police station to accept this new system open
minded.
After developing this project there is no conflicts between the
employees and new system
There is no specialized training needed for the users.

The cost to conduct a full system investigation.
The cost of hardware and software for the class of applications being
considered.
The benefits in the form of reduced cost.
The proposed system will give the minute information, as a result the
performance is improved which in turn may be expected to provide
increased profits.

Functional requirements

Requirement no 1: Register for the Criminal or prisoner

The system should accept username and password of the Admin and
Detective police.
The system should allow system administrator to create, update, and
delete account
The system should accept only validate data

The system shall provide immediate information for the users.

If the information submitted by the user is valid and found in the
database then the corresponding record is displayed.
The updated information is reflected in the stored database
 Storage related requirements

The system will store all the detail information of the criminal.
The user store detective police information.
Processing related requirements
validation checks are performed on the input data by the
user/administrator like
mandatory fields should not be kept blank
prisoner family member should be check
All the entries in database should be correct
After inputting data validation checks on various fields is performed
On clicking the view button the system search for the specified
database stored.

Secure access of confidential data (users details). SSL can be used.

24 X 7 availability
Better component design to get better performance at peak time.
Flexible service based architecture will be highly desirable for future
extension.

SYSTEM DESIGN
The following are discussed in this chapter: design goals, system
architecture, system decomposition etc.
This project is designed in a manner that solves the problems of the
organization by minimizing the work load that appears on the
employees because of the existing manual system.

Performance
The system is compatible with wamp server platform. Because, the
system is programmed with php and mysql.
Modifiability
The system is easily modifiable when the Wolkite Police station
changes the new IIS server.
Reliability: The software is able to perform a required function under
stated conditions for a specified period of time.
Security: our system has its own data validation and no more exposed
to security issue.

closely related to reliability and repair time and should be considered
