Catholic Feast of the St. Lucy (283-304). St Lucy (or Santa Lucia) was born of a wealthy family in Sicily,
Day Italy. Legend says that Lucy, a Christian, was betrothed to a pagan and refused to marry
him. Unable to burn her Roman guards are said to have removed her eyes with a fork. St
Lucy has been venerated since the early 5th century. She is Patron Saint of the blind.

This Day in History 1972 Astronaut Gene Cernan lifts off from the moon. He is the last man to step foot on
the moon.
1973 England temporarily cuts the working week to 3 days to save power.
1981 Polish Union Leader, Lech Walesa, is arrested and the communist government
restricts civil rights and trade-unions. Eventually unrest results in the fall of the
Government and Walesa is elected President of a free, democratic Poland.

2 Today IS Lab Laboratory Experiment Science
3:40-5:10pm A laboratory session will be held in the IS Lab from 3:40 to Society
5:10pm on 13th Dec (Wed). The experiment will be related to
Electromagnetism. Interested students please bring along your
calculator and laptop to the lab.
3 Today GP130 Drama Team Auditions Drama
12:30-1:15pm The auditions for Drama Team will be held on 12th Dec (Tue 2) Team
and 13th Dec (Wed 2) from 12:30 to 1:15pm. For any enquiries,
please contact Rohit Sharma of 5D.
4 Today (3:15 pm Archery Court Archery Club Training Programme Archery
4:15 pm) and The Archery Club Training Programme will be held at the Club
Friday (15 Dec) Archery Court (Covered Playground beside the Swimming

6 14th Dec (Thu) Large Lecture Wuhan Study Tour Students Meeting Exchange
12:30 1:20 pm Theatre All students participating in the Wuhan Study Tour MUST Team
attend a departure meeting to be conducted by external
organizer on Thursday 14 Dec. As the trip is subsidized by
EDB, attendance in this meeting is compulsory. The meeting

7 Tomorrow LG2 GP Room Dance Team Training Session Dance Team
12:15 The Dance Team will have a training session tomorrow from
13:15 12:15 to 13:15 in the LG2 GP Room (At the back of School
Hall). All members must attend the training session punctually
and attendance will be taken.

Admission Officers of Peking University will visit La Salle College to meet Form 5 students on 18 Team
December 2017 (Mon) and advise students about application for undergraduate admission of the
University. Interested students may enroll through student-signed eNotice Car-027/17-18 by 14 Dec
2017 (Thu).

14 Blood Donation Hong Kong

Red Cross
Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Donation Service will come to our school on 14 Dec 2017
( Thu 1 ), Students who are age 16 or above can have blood donation. Please bring your HKID
card and parent consent form. You need to have breakfast before blood donation.
