Futura Software Update Version 2.13.0

Several firmware updates for the Futura machine have been released over the past year. Customers that have not
updated their machines may continue to experience operating issues.

The latest release is now available. Use the link below to download the latest version of the Futura NA operating manual
(Version 7) including new functions in this update.

Listed below are some of the highlights of this latest update. We urge you to register your Futura in order to download this
important update.

1) Chapter 6 - OPTIONS
6.3.4.c TETHERING USB Mode (page 44-SW) - As an alternative to a tablet->machine WIFI connection, a
USB connection can be used with the cable provided with the tablet. To activate this connection enable the
Android Tethering USB function from the settings menu on the tablet.

NOTE: EVERY TIME THE TABLET AND MACHINE ARE TURNED OFF, THE SOFTWARE WILL
DEFAULT BACK TO ACCESS MODE (WIFI). IF YOU WISH TO WORK WITH THE TETHERING USB
MODE AGAIN, YOU MUST CHANGE THE CONNECTION AS DETAILED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS IN
THIS SECTION.

2) Chapter 7 - MACHINE UPDATE and REGISTRATION

7.1 MACHINE REGISTRATION (page 52SW-57SW) - There are now four methods for customers to
register their machines with the Silca Server. The latest and easiest way, to register is method 4 detailed
on page 57-SW. This allows the user to register their machine from any PC/tablet connected to the
Internet. The website address is

3) Chapter 10 - TRANSPONDER GUIDE (pages 71-SW to 72-SW)

Contains all of the transponder solutions provided by Silca.

As stated above, Silca periodically distributes Software and Data updates for Futura. Once a customer updates to this
version of the software, an occasional notification will remind you to check for new updates using one of the connection
modes available (see menu Options > Updates).

The Futura must be registered in order to download firmware updates.
