Critical Review Bible

The bible is not only a spiritual book, it is the best instructor to be successful in daily life. The

bible is a collection of sacred text or scriptures that the Jewish and Christians consider to be a

product of divine inspiration and record the relationship between God and human. The bible is

one of the greatest books and has inspired me in different way. The bible shaped the way people

live their lives, shaped how society develops culture and tradition, useful in transforming the

political system, and to advanced art ,film and literature.

The bible shape the way people live their life. For example in Mathew "Whatever you wish

that others would do to you, do also to them." (KJV,Mathew.7.12). This rule also widely known

as the "Golden Rule", advocates selfless actions. Human nature and tendency is to want

everything for himself/herself whether it's material things or spiritual blessings. However, it is

the rule, like the Golden rule, that sets the standard and gives direction to people and me to love

and care for others, as everyone wants to be loved and cared for in the best way.

The Bible also shaped how a family should be like. The biblical teachings have set the

Standards on how a husband and wife should lead their life as one to raise their family.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, Submit yourselves unto your

own husbands, as unto the Lord. (KJV,Ephesians.5.22). Submission comes first, the bible has

thought me to submit myself to my husband. That helping me to have a beautiful marriage.

The bible is helping me to honor my family, and it make me a family person. " Honor your

father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you"

(KJV,Exodus.20.12). this guiding principle provides insight and entices to be obedient not only

to my Father and mother but also to laws of the land. It helps me to develop a sense of respect,

and to be law abiding citizens.

One of the areas that has transformed by the bible is the political system. The modern

political history of the United States is developed and constituted by the forefathers who are

inspired by the very ideals of the teachings and principles of the biblical truths. For example in it

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.(KJV, Romans.12.18).

This simple but very profound principle caused the founding father to tribute to the idea of

human dignity and respect. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no

power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God. (KJV,Rome.13.1). This bible

verses help me to be in subjection to high power and to leave peaceful life with any people in the

world.

The bible has been helping me to be economically successful. The soul of the sluggard

desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.(KJV.Proverb.13.4).

The bible strongly motivate people to be hard worker and to build a carrier in their life journey.

The bible has helped me and will continue to have a profound impact on me in managing my

finance, and resources efficiently and effectively. It also empowered me and have given me a

provision on how to be a hard working person, and in creating wealth as an instrument to fulfill

my personal goals and dreams. "Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard

will prosper.( KJV.Proverb.13.4). I strongly believe that the bible motivates and indulge people

to be hard working, help people to establish and develop their career.

Literature, art and film are the area that are influenced by the Bible. The American literature

has borrowed many words from the bible. There are so many prolific writers that are inspired

and influenced by the Bible. The novels that have had the most impact on American literature

have strong biblical influences. "These classics include: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck,

The Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison, Moby Dick by Herman Melville and The Scarlet

Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the much-read Uncle Toms Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe,

the book contains almost 100 quotations or direct references from the Bible". In addition, the

Bible is quoted more often than any other piece of literature in history and has had more

influence on the English language. Film is a very popular medium to make an impact on society.

Film as part of media is very influential and can be used as a means to propagate ideas, has the

capacity to change the world view. The Bible and biblical stories has been produced and made as

a movie. So many film and script writers are inspired writing stories that has connection with

Bible characters. In the same way, bible also influenced art in society. The outstanding and great

art works such as the " Last supper", the statue of David by Leonardo Da Vinci are inspired by

biblical stories.

In conclusion, in the societies like America where the Bible is widely read, this sacred book is

highly influential, becoming the foundation of morality in society. For example, in America, the

Constitution and the rules and laws that govern society have their roots in the Bible, through

moral codes like the Ten Commandments. The bible has been and will continue to be a source

for literature and film work to be produced. This will eventually will have enormous impact and

be a motivation for so many young artists and script writers to make more movies and art works.

Personally, it helped me to advance my understanding of literature value of the books such Song

of Solomon, Psalms and so on. It also improved my ability to conceptualize artistic works and

sync myself with the stories and implement it in my day to day activities . The bible also help me

to grow up socially, politically and economically in my daily life. So the bible is more than

spiritual book.
